Songs that have actually made you cry?

Or put you on the verge of excreting fluid from your lacrimal glands. Of course it depends on my mood and some have taken a sad dimension due to life events or the context for which they were written, but here are some songs that have done it for me over the years Remember real men cry themselves to sleep every night
1Sigur Ros
( )

Untitled 8 (somehow evoked more childhood nostalgia than any other song, despite not discovering it until I was around 18)
2Vali
Forlatt

Et Ensomt Minne
3Various Artists (Ambient)
Mono No Aware

Malibu - Held (Caught me off guard during the final passage)
4Matryoshka
Laideronnette

Cut all trees
5The Angelic Process
Weighing Souls With Sand

How to build a time machine (during the outro chords, mostly due to the tragedy that would befall them soon after)
6Parkway Drive
Don't Close Your Eyes

The Cruise (I was semi close friends with a guy who killed himself and Parkway Drive were one of his favourite bands, so this interlude seems to remind me of him. Also glad he never had to see them devolve into dadcore schlock)
7Deftones
Deftones

Anniversary of an uninteresting event (chino probably wrote it in 10 minutes whilst shovelling cheeseburgers into his maw but it strikes a chord with the heartstrings)
8Deftones
B-Sides and Rarities

Be quiet and drive (Acoustic)
9Phelian
Nocturne

Nocturne (whilst sitting in my car as rain streaked down the windows just after receiving some bad news)
10Above and Beyond
Group Therapy

Sun and Moon (while seeing them live about ten years ago, I should be ashamed to admit it, but I'm not)
11Jeremy Soule
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Soundtrack

Far Horizons (for the nostalgia...just the opening notes are enough)
12Martin O'Donnell
Halo 3 OST

Never forget (and a few other tracks that take me back to simpler/brighter times)
13Eluvium
Nightmare Ending

Covered in Writing (flying home on a plane knowing I won't see my family for at least another year and reflecting on life)
14Alice in Chains
Jar of Flies

guess which one
15Buckethead
Electric Tears

Padmasana
16Misery signals
Misery Signals

Dream Atlantic / The year summer ended in June (haven't cried but the genuine pain in his screams considering the context has me on the brink of it)
17Glass Casket
We Are Gathered Here Today...

A grey AM you will never get to see (the painful outro. I remember putting myself in the vocalists shoes, having just lost his sister)
18Blink-182
Enema of the State

Adam's Song (reminds me of a very specific time in my childhood with some people who aren't around anymore)
19Planning for Burial
Leaving

Leaving (makes me feel empty / cry internally)
20Windy and Carl
Drawing of Sound

Whisper (makes me think of mum although I can't say why)
21Soundtrack (Video Game)
Mass Effect 3

An end once and for all (partly for the nostalgia, partly because it's a beautiful song)
22Akira Senju
Fullmetal Alchemist Original Soundtrack 1

Kyoudai/Brothers
23Black Thread
Meadowlark (Premonition)

How could I forget coming home whilst still floating on MDMA and listening to this and crying tears of ..ecstasy
24Deafheaven
Sunbather

Dreamhouse (almost...the first time I heard the climax at the end I watching my dog run around at the park across from where we used to live, not long before she was mistakenly put down, now it takes me back to that moment)
25Remember
ルートバックホーム

Love me (I had just arrived in Tokyo after going at least 30 hours without sleep and was wandering through the neon labyrinth with no idea where the hell I was going, my phone was about to die and I couldn't find the friends who I was supposed to link up with, this song took my breath away and I had chills running through me [I had to sleep in some shit hostel and share a room with some weird middle aged japanese man who I guess had Tourette's because he would growl every 10 minutes which made it a bit hard to sleep])
26Lou Reed and Metallica
Lulu

The first time I heard this I convulsed with laughter for almost the entire record, and cried more than I have on every other entry on this list combined
