I can't quite come up with one that runs on one appearance per band (or especially one album per genre) for the entire decade myself, but if I were to make one with one appearance per band, I think my '90, '92, '93, '96, and '98 lists would be identical to what's on here, while '91 would include U2 and a Tribe Called Quest after RHCP, '94 would swap out STP for Soundgarden, and '99 would include Rage Against the Machine and DMX after Eminem. Can't quite come up with '95 or '97 lists in this style off the top of my head, though... |

12.29.21 | Gyromania: "Tonight, Tonight" didn't make it in just because I only wanted to pick three songs from disc one. I wanted to make sure the two discs got (somewhat) even balance in terms of song picks. "Tonight, Tonight" is definitely in my top ten for disc one (not quite top five, I'd take "Galapogos" and maybe even "Zero" over it), but for me, "Here Is No Why" will always be the best song from Mellon Collie on disc one ("1979" is my favorite on the album). |
