11.03.21 | 8 and 12 are EPICALLY weird picks. Young Americans scored a 1, like someone actually reckons the debut is better |

11.03.21 | this ranking is strange. I only care about 3 bowie albums after listening to all of them, Rise and Fall, Low and Station to Station |

11.04.21 | Whoa that Scary Monsters rating is scary [2]
I'm... stunned, frankly, that I found someone who ranks Scary Monsters below Earthling, Outside, Tonight, Hours, Never Let Me Down, and The Buddha of Suburbia. To each their own. I actually was playing Scary Monsters a lot last month to get into the Halloween spirit, and it is damn great. The title song in particular is absolutely amazing. |

11.04.21 | Based Hunky Dory indifference - album is overrated as fuck |
JJKeys
11.04.21 | @JKing - don't throw Outside under the bus like that, it's a top 3 Bowie album |

06.03.22 | Let's Dance onwards were all albums where I loved every song. Well, Outside was strange but amazing. Basically Bowie's MO.
I found Young Americans boring except for the title track, which I liked. However, I can't judge an entire album on one song alone.
These really were my first impressions, I'd never heard any album all the way through before and I'd only heard some songs from the 70's albums (but not, strangely, from Station to Station to Low/Lodger. I'd heard Heroes before), and pretty much nothing post-Let's Dance except Lazarus and Blackstar (the song).
These are my first takes on every album. I still haven't gone back and relistened to them all, but my opinions on some of them might change. For example, I couldn't really get into Scary Monsters outside of Ashes to Ashes and Fashion, and Diamond Dogs was alright but nothing really stood out to me apart from Rebel Rebel. It's all I can remember from the album. They might just be albums that require multiple listens. |
