09.23.21 | I’ve moved with a lot of records multiple times. Mega size milk crates (link below) are some of the best things. Using plastic outer sleeves on the all is also good for protection. If the crate isn’t full, try to pad it so they stay upright or else you’ll get a lot of warping in the heat.

09.23.21 | I’ve got about 300 records and I’ve always just used boxes that I taped the fuck out of. then again I’ve never moved them very far either. |

09.23.21 | I went to buy milk crates at the Container Store but they fucking changed the size of milk crates so vinyl dont fit in them anymore im not even joking. So I ended up buying some overpriced tupperware with lids that fit them pretty good, only took two boxes. Damn the boxes are heavy tho |

09.23.21 | I moved about 500 records nearly 1500 miles 4 years ago, and all seemed to come out ok. Buy some vinyl storage boxes (got mine from sleeve city), and pack them full to where they stand vertically with little movement, but not packed tightly. With the amount of vinyl you have, one box might be enough, though it depends on your ratio of single, double and gatefold owned since they take up different amounts of space. If you need two, just pad the second less full box with similarly sized pieces of cardboard till you get a similar lack of movement. As mentioned above, plastic outer sleeves will help reduce wear between vinyl as they inevitably move within the boxes. Good luck! |

09.23.21 | great advice in here so I have nothing much else to all other than make sure you store the actual discs outside of the cardboard sleeve or you’ll get those ugly wear and tear rings on the album art. I store all mine in plastic slip cases with the discs and sleeves separate. |

09.23.21 | i recently moved my collection of about 700+ records using UHaul cardboard boxes and they came out fine. just duct tape the bottoms several times to prevent them from falling out. the boxes themselves are sturdy enough.
obviously milk crates would be best but they can present a storage problem after you use them, in case you dont just rid of them. |
