BTBAM Ranked 2

An update from my previous ranking in 2018.
1Between the Buried and Me
Colors

Previous rank: 1. Uncontested.
2Between the Buried and Me
Colors II

Previous rank: N/A
3Between the Buried and Me
The Parallax II: Future Sequence

Previous rank: 5. Up 2 spots

The ending track run on this is the true highlight of the album (and yes I consider Bloom to be included as a part of that), and Melting City/Silent Flight is probably their best two song stretch on an album.
4Between the Buried and Me
The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues

Previous rank: 4

Just simply murderous, in my opinion.
5Between the Buried and Me
The Great Misdirect

Previous rank: 6. Up 1

A shower that became a grower. My main gripe has always been not being a biggest fan of the song structures on this. It's like prog played exactly how you could predict and extremely digestible for how extravagant it is. But I mean, nothing here sounds or has the punch of Sun of Nothing/Ants of the Sky. It's like the songs pkay themselves out but don't stick out as more meaningful to me. Just a personal aside there.
6Between the Buried and Me
Alaska

Previous rank: 2. Down 4.

Big Alaska boy, but I don't ever really need to listen to this anymore. I used to have it at the two spot, but that's because it's (still) probably one of the best metalcore/prog deliverances, it's just there's more now to be found in the other material above and there is a tad bit lackluster songwriting here and there amongst some of the more repeated parts.
7Between the Buried and Me
The Silent Circus

Previous rank: 7

Never really was the biggest fan of this even though I heard it early on with the others alongside Colors. It's like their least cohesive imo, and not all the grind sections are really that great, to be perfectly honest.
8Between the Buried and Me
Between the Buried and Me

Previous rank: 3. Down 5.

Previous rank THREE. I mean, I love this, and considered putting it under TGM. This album has passages that are more evoking of the classic Between the Buried and Me riff structures than most of Silent Circus. The first half of Shevanel Cut a Flip pummels as well as the first time you heard it- and I might be crazy, but I think P1 took some pointers from this. I hear P1 songwriting and riffing all over this.
9Between the Buried and Me
Automata I

Previous rank: 8. Down 1.
10Between the Buried and Me
Automata II

Previous rank: N/A
11Between the Buried and Me
The Anatomy Of

Previous rank: second to last. No change
12Between the Buried and Me
Coma Ecliptic

Previous rank: last. No change.
