| Ozzy Osbourne Albums: Worst to First
ONNN A BUUUUUUNNNN hahahahah! | 11 | | Ozzy Osbourne Down to Earth
Yeah, there isn’t anything on here I enjoyed. Generic Ozzy at his very worst. Best thing about this album is that revamped Ozzy logo.
Best Track: N/A
Grade: F | 10 | | Ozzy Osbourne Black Rain
While this isn’t the dumpster fire many claim it to be, I can’t really say it’s anything all that remarkable. It’s a serviceable album with a couple excellent highlights. Simply passable.
Best Track: Trap Door
Grade: D | 9 | | Ozzy Osbourne Bark at the Moon
Take away tracks 1 & 5 and you’d be left with the worst album of Ozzy’s career. He’s lucky those two songs were on here, or else the only redeeming quality this album would have would be Jake E Lee’s solos.
Best Track: Centre of Eternity
Grade: D+ | 8 | | Ozzy Osbourne Ordinary Man
Not half bad, to be honest. There's a surprising amount of variety here, which is something Ozzy has never really given us before. Only about half of it works, but it definitely made a concerted effort. I mean, it has songs featuring both Elton John and Post Malone, and both of them are pretty solid.
Best Track: It’s a Raid
Grade: C- | 7 | | Ozzy Osbourne Ozzmosis
Not a very strong followup to “No More Tears”, but still a fun album. Perry Mason slaps hard as shit, and the filler on here isn’t half bad. A good album, but perhaps a bit too standard to warrant multiple listens.
Best Track: Perry Mason
Grade: C | 6 | | Ozzy Osbourne Scream
Not sure what people were expecting from a late career Ozzy record, but in comparison to the 3 albums that preceded it, I much prefer this one. While he didn’t really shed the generic sound he had grown accustomed to, there is still some really fun material on here. Definitely my favorite post-”retirement” offering of his.
Best Track: Let Me Hear You Scream
Grade: C+ | 5 | | Ozzy Osbourne No Rest for the Wicked
Definitely an underrated chapter in the Ozzy Osbourne discography. Stylistically it’s a nice melding of the spooky atmospherics of the first two records and the anthemic tendencies of “The Ultimate Sin”. I’m not a huge fan of Zakk Wylde, but he manages to keep his obnoxious pinch harmonics to a low here, so it isn’t too distracting.
Best Track: Crazy Babies
Grade: B | 4 | | Ozzy Osbourne Blizzard of Ozz
I know this is a beloved record, but it just never had the same impact on me as it did on others. I used to dislike this album quite a bit, but it has grown on me substantially over the years. I don’t think it’s his best, but I can understand why people feel that’s the case. A classic, but not my favorite.
Best Track: Steal Away the Night
Grade: B+ | 3 | | Ozzy Osbourne No More Tears
This was supposed to be his final record, and if it actually was, it would have been a great note to end on. While I’m not the biggest fan of Zakk Wylde’s guitar work, I’d be lying if I said he doesn’t apply himself admirably here. This is definitely more in the vain of the arena rock style of Ultimate Sin, and I definitely think it’s better for it. Very close to being an all killer no filler album.
Best Track: Hellraiser
Grade: A- | 2 | | Ozzy Osbourne Diary of a Madman
The used to be my favorite, but it just recently got dethroned by the new #1. Even though it got bumped down a place, it’s still a classic record from start to finish. Randy Roads truly was an insanely unique and talented guitarist, and this album is probably the strongest offering of his career. My only minor critique would be that the guitar tone itself is a little grating.
Best Track: Flying High Again
Grade: A | 1 | | Ozzy Osbourne The Ultimate Sin
I don’t give a darn what anyone has to say, Ultimate Sin is Ozzy doing what Ozzy does best; writing arena anthems. Not only does this album contain a large handful of my all-time favorite Ozzy tracks, but it’s the album that brought me to the conclusion that Jake E Lee was the best guitarist he ever had. Good times guaranteed with this one.
Best Track: Shot in the Dark

07.25.21 | Solo Ozzy has never caught my attention, besides a few select songs. Good list | rockarollacola
07.25.21 | If you're interested, just stick with the first 6 records and a few singles from the 90's and 2000's. You'll get all you need to out of his discography. | Storm In A Teacup
07.25.21 | Black Sabbath was my first metal band and I listened to them too much to pay attention to anything but Ozzy's singles. | Titan
07.25.21 | 1 is my favorite as well | Muzz79

07.25.21 | Great to see some respect for 1 and 2. Sorry, but 5 and 7 are bottom of the barrel. 6 is a true banger! 10 and 11 should be higher. | rockarollacola
07.26.21 | I know people love Bark at the Moon, but it just doesn't do anything for me. I really can't stand the inclusion of keyboards, but Lee does deliver some NASTY fuckin' solos though, so it's not all bad. | chemicalmarriage
07.26.21 | Love the jake e lee respect | ReturnToRock
