05.14.21 | 1, 5, and 12 are albums I refer people to when they either want nu metal recommendations, or they dismiss all nu metal as "sounding the same." In fact, I'll take those three albums over the entire combined discographies of many of the "real metal" bands nu metal haters glorify -- Maiden, Priest, Death, Dio -- forever. A genre where, even though it had many low points, the high points were genuinely excellent. |
