The Dear Hunter Ranked

One of the best bands from the 2000's, and I'm gonna rank em.
7The Dear Hunter
Migrant

Definitely not bad, but it's easily the most forgettable of their discography. Likely due to it not being a part of the greater narrative of TDH albums.

3.5/5
Best Song: Whisper
6The Dear Hunter
Act I: The Lake South, the River North

Nothing too bad against this one, but it suffers from 'first album disorder' with weaker production and a shorter length than their future releases.

3.5/5
Best Song: 1878
5The Dear Hunter
Act III: Life and Death

Let this be a testament to how great the rest of their releases are; Act III is a terrific album that just features a fewer highpoints than the rest of their work.

4/5
Best Song: Mustard Gas
4The Dear Hunter
Act II: The Meaning of, & All Things Regarding Ms. Leading

So close to being a perfect album. It just drags a little too much in areas for my taste, but god damn the highlights are wonderful.

4.5/5
Best Song: The Lake and the River
3The Dear Hunter
Act IV: Rebirth in Reprise

Easily their catchiest and most accessible album. Similar to Act II though, I just feel it drags on in a few too many places for it to get a perfect score.

4.5/5
Best Song: A Night On the Town
2The Dear Hunter
The Color Spectrum (Complete Collection)

Probably the most ambitious release I've seen in the last 10+ years. Lacks the cohesion that their albums have, but that's to be expected for this being a collection of EP's.

5/5
Best Song: The Collapse of the Great Tide Cliffs
1The Dear Hunter
Act V: Hymns with the Devil in Confessional

The perfect finale for a wonderful series of albums. If there really is an Act VI in the works, it has a lot to live up to. Perfect flow from beginning to end.

5/5
Best Song: Gloria
