TOP ALBUMS OF ALL TIME

while I know a lot of might be on probably mostly everyone else's list too. These are just my own personal list of albums that mean a lot to me. Im probably going to do a list of other albums too. Again curious what you're favorites are! I fanboy here a lot too so don't mind me. EDIT-I redid this since I felt the first time around I left a lot out. For some reason these lists are important to me haha go figure.
1Bathory
Hammerheart

Epic and pounding. Favorite Metal album of all time
2Celtic Frost
To Mega Therion

Crushing and also dear to me. UHH!
3Candlemass
Nightfall

The solo in Bewitched alone makes me play air guitar
4Primordial
The Gathering Wilderness

Haunting and dark. Perfect for a gloomy Spring day
5Venom
Welcome to Hell

Nitty and Gritty
6Vali
Forlatt

Beautiful and sad. Favorite non metal release. Picked up guitar and honestly wanted to give it a go cuz of this album.
7Ebony Tears
Tortura Insomniae

One of my earliest metal releases that I loved. And I still do. Still gets my blood pumping
8Nadja
Touched (2007 reissue)

This reissue is worth it. Trust me. Takes me away to another place
9Ginnungagap
Remeindre

Dark Indian/ Middle Eastern sounding drone. And a perfect release for a sweltering summer day.
10The Caretaker
Persistent Repetition of Phrases

I remember listening to this on a dark winters night and it honestly was terrifying. Recommended
11KTL
2

Another Stephen O’Malley project which I love. Pure genius.
12Sunn O)))
Flight of the Behemoth

Unsettling and a perfect for a long walk on a grey day. Piano adds an extra bit of atmosphere too
13Gordian Knot
Gordian Knot

Amazing prog and jazz. Can’t get enough of this album
14Iron Maiden
The Number of the Beast

Is any list complete without some Maiden? Nope.
15Nuclear Assault
Game Over

This album basically got me into old school punk. Dirty and filthy production and I love it!
16Onslaught
Power from Hell

Once again dirty and filthy. Need I say more?
17Judas Priest
Painkiller

This album is a kick in stomach. Pure adrenaline. If I was stuck in a desert island I’d be taking this bad boy with me
18Black Sabbath
Heaven and Hell

If they replaced Dio with Siri’s voice I’d be very happy. Driving to the store would turn into an epic quest
19Compulsive Gamblers
Crystal Gazing Luck Amazing

Such a great album from a relatively unknown band. Proud to know about these guys! Sadly this album is the only one not on Sputnik :(
20The Sonics
Here Are the Sonics

This album is SO. DAMN. GOOOODDD! The title says it all. Here are the Sonics!
21The Gories
I Know You Fine, but How You Doin'

Love the guitar tone on this record. It’s perfect and dirty
22The Stooges
Raw Power

Id also take this album to the desert island too. Iggy was punk and metal all at the same time. This is a newer release for me on this list. But damn it just needs to be here.
23Joy Division
Unknown Pleasures

Decided to redo this list since the first time I just wrote off whatever was on my mind without thinking it through. I’m OCD about these lists. This is also a newer one here. But damn I was hooked once I heard Disorder
24Siouxsie and the Banshees
Juju

Before the pandemic this used to be my morning drive to work jam
25Alkaline Trio
From Here To Infirmary

First punk record and first concert. Still a great album
26Red Hot Chili Peppers
Blood Sugar Sex Magik

This album brought it. The flea is a monster at bass
27The Police
Synchronicity

Radiohead was in this spot before. While I do love OK Computer. I forgot my debatable favorite album. Of any genre. And it’s this one. Still love ya tho OK Computer
28The Used
The Used

First band that I really liked. Still remember getting into this album
