It's pretty much trying to capture what most people think when they hear the term "classical music" but be far from just the classical period. So, stuff made by orchestras. It doesn't have to be a large one. Supposedly, some baroque orchestras have as few as 8 musicians.

ArsMoriendi 05.26.20	@Potsy: Doing some googling to make sure it makes sense AND From what I'm looking up, India, Iran, Turkey/former Ottman empire, Korea, and South East Asia all seem to have classical traditions that span hundreds of years. So yeah, it doesn't have to be European/American Just don't confuse it with Indian folk music since apparently they're vastly different according to people who study the 2. Indian classical is usually split into Carnatic and Hindustani (and includes the mode raga) Whereas Indian folk has a lot of genres including Bhangra, Sufi, and others I haven't heard of. Pick the classical and you'll be good, pick the folk and you'll lose points

ArsMoriendi 05.30.20	I'm just gonna round it down to the main reason I don't want to count it: those drums, which are super prominent, arguably even the leading force, don't sound like orchestral instrumentation at all. ----- EXTRA non-TLDR stuff: I could see ambient classical being an idea I'd count, but maybe leave pop/rock/hip hop elements out of it entirely? I'd say leave out electronic elements too, but Wendy Carlos' Bach covers seem pretty damn classical... That's why I said: "baroque pop, baroque rock, folk baroque, symphonic metal, chamber pop, orchestral pop, and other similar fusions do not count." I don't want contemporary pop conventions to be the leading force for why I like a song [this round] since it feels like cheating. I just want classical (which could mean anything from Bach to Debussy to John Williams, or Ravi Shankar and other Eastern classical traditions as Potsy pointed out.) If it helps, this is likely to be the nitpickiest of the rounds.
