The cool EPs of 2019
Didn't actually listen to very many, but these were my favs |
15 | | August Burns Red Phantom Sessions
People were weirdly hating on this, I probably enjoyed it more than the actual full-length lol |
14 | | Jeff Rosenstock and Laura Stevenson Still Young
Neil Young covers, nothing special but kinda cool |
13 | | Lil Nas X 7
I unironically enjoy some of these. Leave me alone |
12 | | Knocked Loose Mistakes Like Fractures
Screamy bois being loud and yelly and screamy. You know how it be. |
11 | | Cane Hill Kill The Sun
Nu-metal-ish band makes acoustic EP. Better than it has any right to be! |
10 | | Undeath Sentient Autolysis
Cool new band throwin down OSDM jams. Looking forward to an LP from them |
9 | | Squid Town Centre
One of the more interesting EPs I heard this year. The first track is an ambient piece, the rest goes more post-punk. Definitely check it. |
8 | | Chat Pile This Dungeon Earth
These guys released two EPs this year, big fan of both. This one is sludgier and more metal than the other. Apparently dude is a fellow sputniker |
7 | | Bilmuri wet milk
I hate to admit how decent this is. Not even gonna try to describe it, just listen to it and please do NOT look up which band this guy originally came from |
6 | | Polyenso Year of the Dog
A very solid EP from an awesome experimental indie/pop group, though it leaves bit to be desired with it's short length. Hopefully a full-length from them in 2020. |
5 | | Lichmagick Lichmagick
It's black metal, it's punk. It's relentless and delicious. And dayum that ALBUM ART |
4 | | The Story So Far, Elder Brother, Misser, Man Overboard Keep Shining On
Tribute to Tim Landers (ex-Transit, Misser). TSSF does a great cover and Elder Brother has two stunning pieces as well. This immediately brings me back to 2015 when I first started listening to Transit. |
3 | | Panopticon The Crescendo of Dusk
A surprise release from an incredibly consistent musician, this is loaded with atmosphere and passion despite its short run-time. |
2 | | Chat Pile Remove Your Skin Please
The 2nd Chat Pile EP of 2019, this one is way more reminiscent of Daughters (which is something I desperately need more of in my life). |
1 | | Cold Moon (USA-CA) Rising
A perfect mix of indie rock and pop-punk. Laid back, refreshing, melodic, and just all around well-written. Filled with great guitar work too. |
