09.27.19 | how you gonna put GKMC as a top 5 album and exclude TPAB from the whole ass list..... |
Larkinhill
09.27.19 | Lot of good albums here, but some of the ordering is off imo. For the most part not too in to the top 5 either (except for RtL, but still wouldn’t even make my top 50).
7, 8, 9, 13 and 15 are very deserving of their high rankings though. |

09.27.19 | This is an incredibly Sputnikmusic list, but lots of gold here. Good stuff |

09.27.19 | 23! 28 (nice pick)! 37! |
RadioSuicide
09.27.19 | yeeeah this list is, like, painfully sputnik, to the point where it's kinda just tasteless and boring. |
tectactoe
09.27.19 | I am sad at the exclusion of ‘Kid as’ but not a bad list overall, if somewhat predictable. |

09.28.19 | Did AI generate this list? No offense, but... |

09.28.19 | Lists are personal, I get it; but 46? Daisy and Science Fiction blow that away. I see Devil and God at 8 which is all good |

09.28.19 | Awesome list. Lots of surprises but that's what makes it your list. We have a decent amount of overlap. |

09.28.19 | I mean, yeah, this list is Sputniky I guess, but that's because I discover most of the stuff I listen to from this website lol. There's a reason I put "(at this point)" in the title. I know that some of the list is a little trite, but I'm young, and I'm just getting started on my journey through the vast wilderness that is music. And I don't want to be that guy, but I feel like I need to defend myself at least a little bit; RadioSuicide, 11 of your 5's are on this list, so I don't know why you're gonna shit on my "tasteless" taste when we have a fair amount of overlap in that department. Did my TPAB exclusion piss you off that much? Lol. Idk, I've never connected with that album to the extent I have with GKMC. GKMC was a watershed moment for me. I'd never heard a rap album that masterful before. It pulled me out of the elitist metalhead mindset I was starting to sink into. If I had heard TPAB first, in place of GKMC, it would probably be the #5 on this list. It's all about my personal experiences. These are the albums I've connected with the most over the last few years, and I'm still making my way through all the classics, so give me time to get to the less trite stuff. I know there's a lot more out there than Radiohead, Opeth, Death, and Agalloch, but that's what I love at this point in my life. |

09.28.19 | To be fair I’d take both GKMC and DAMN over TPAB in terms of personal preference |
Disorderly
09.28.19 | I'd concede that TPAB is the better album, but that's not gonna stop me from enjoying GKMC more. And I'm probably more likely to listen to DAMN. than TPAB, just cuz it's a more casual listen. |
RadioSuicide
09.28.19 | yes and many others I have 4.5'd. My ire doesn't stem from you making a list of shitty albums (these are all mostly fantastic), or that you have 0 taste, but rather that I've heard all of these but 2, and I'd say most people on here would agree that this is a very entry-level sputlist. BUT, all things considered, and from what you've expressed, this is a fantastic springboard of albums to start with, and I wish you the best of luck on your musical journey, I just hope you cultivate your own unique top 50 over time and don't concern yourself too much with what the general consensus of an album is, much as I did for a long time growing up with this site. When all you listen to is "verified" quality music, your own definition will become more skewed and pretentious. To show there's no ill will, I hope you enjoy these sputcore classics that I've loved dearly over my time on the site:
Sufjan Stevens - Illinois
The National - Boxer
The Tallest Man on Earth - The Wild Hunt
Cynic - Traced in Air
Cryptopsy - None So Vile
Tom Waits - Rain Dogs
NOFX - The Decline
Talk Talk - Spirit of Eden
Dragged Into Sunlight - Hatred for Mankind
Mr. Bungle - California
Nick Drake - Pink Moon

09.28.19 | That's precisely the way I feel. No denying TPAB's importance or inherent """greatness""", but it's rare that I listen to it these days, despite how much I truly do like it. I almost always opt for GKMC or DAMN, especially if I'm not planning on sitting through the entire album. |
tectactoe
09.28.19 | lol 'The Decline' is a sputcore classic? an 18-minute pseudo-(pop)punk song? |
tectactoe
09.28.19 | Holy shit it has a 4.4 lmao, never would've guessed that. |
RadioSuicide
09.28.19 | yeah for a skate punk album that's virtually unheard of here, always loved the band and knew they were generally well-received on the site, but definitely never expected that when I first saw it. But yeah S.80, GKMC, and DAMN are all way easier to casually listen to than TPAB, no denying that. Individually they all have more bops than any modern hip-hop artist could hope to have in their entire careers. |

09.28.19 | 'Individually they all have more bops than any modern hip-hop artist could hope to have in their entire careers.'
massive exaggerration but gkmc is better than tpab anyway |
RadioSuicide
09.28.19 | Danny Brown, Earl, and Lupe are the only ones I can personally say refute that. J. Cole is wildly overrated and artists like Young Thug are in an entirely different category of music to me. TPAB is a musical triumph and isn't even worth comparing to his other work imo, and GKMC has lost a ton of replay value for me over the years, so I couldn't accurately compare the two even if I wanted to. |

09.28.19 | Thanks man, that means a lot. I'll check out the ones that I haven't heard yet. I've been meaning to listen to The Wild Hunt for a while now, and I tried to get into None So Vile a few years back, but I wasn't ready for that level of heaviness yet, so I need to go back to it. Illinois is an awesome album, I gotta relisten to it tho, same with Traced In Air. The Decline is one of the best songs I've ever heard, and honestly belongs on my all time favorite songs list. And Pink Moon is just beautiful. I definitely hope to get some more underrated/unknown stuff on this list in the future. This list looks much, much different than it would've three/four or even two years ago, so I can only imagine how much it'll change in the future. |
RadioSuicide
09.28.19 | I've decided I like you and that I was being a dick. Truth be told this would've been dangerously close to my top 50 at 17/18. gimme a shout when you check TWH, interested to see if you like it, it's one of my all-time favorites. Also check Shallow Grave, and equally important, this live version of Where Do My Bluebird Fly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zG2ccH8jlCA |

09.28.19 | get a room, fellas.
solid #1 choice though, album absolutely rules. |

09.29.19 | Cool list my man. |

09.30.19 | Listen to Rock and Roll Part Three by Ozma if you haven't already
|
Demon of the Fall
09.30.19 | Cool.
A lot of contrasting emotions looking through this list, it is very 'Sput-like' - not necessarily a bad thing. |
Dedes
09.30.19 | Stop 9.9ing and just 10 them goddamit! |
Demon of the Fall
09.30.19 | Yeah 9.9 is such a weird rating, I could maybe get it down to .5s (out of 10), but anything more exact seems odd, especially when it's that close to perfect. |
Disorderly
10.02.19 | Definitely understandable. Idk, I do feel like I can make a distinction between a 9.8, a 9.9, and a 10. I only use that system for really 9.4 and above, cuz I don't know how you can actually tell the difference between a 7.3 and a 7.2. |

10.06.19 | Nice various list |
