Underrated albums from famous metal bands
The most overlooked gems only from well known metal bands, if you disagree argue like an human being. |
1 | | Annihilator Schizo Deluxe
Annihilator gets lot of credits.... only for their first 2 albums while the majority could feature in this list. Jeff likes to experiment but guess what? Elitists are close minded and want to hear the same stuff forever. Schizo deluxe is an overlooked dark gem with lots of variations, heavy riffs and demented atmosphere
Rate 10 |
2 | | Black Sabbath Headless Cross
So much better than Mob rules, born again and never say die are sure underrated but i've never heard anybody speaking about this. I love black moon rising
Rate 8 1/2 |
3 | | Fear Factory The Industrialist
Digimortal has it's fans, transgression is fine but objectively their worst, this one is their most overlooked because of the electronic drums, but hey, it's industrial, they re allowed! Virus of faith is among rheir best
8 1/2 |
4 | | Ministry Relapse
Maybe their most hated, it's not so bad, i love their s.o.d. cover
7 1/2 |
5 | | Korn Life Is Peachy
This is pretty well known but nobody seems to fully appreciate it aside from the singkes. Sure the most experimental and dark album korn ever made. Listen to kill you and mr.rogers
9 |
6 | | Soilwork Figure Number Five
Any soilwork fan except me will tell you this is their worst lp. Sure they got softer with this, but in a good way, every single track is good and catchy, departure plan, cranking the siren and distortion sleep are an example
9 |
7 | | In Flames Soundtrack to Your Escape
I bet if this came out after siren charms everyone would have loved it. I admit it took time to appreciate it but the perfect use of the synths and the claustrophobic atmosphere makes this one a great work
8 1/2 |
8 | | Slayer Diabolus in Musica
I love thrash. I don't love the majority of people who loves it. Some of those "thrash lovers" are closed minded little people with god complex hating on everything that's different from their tastes and sometimes the same people complaining that bands needs variation. Slayer experimented with a groovy and nu approach, you know what? It's better than repentless and divine intervention.
8 |
9 | | Pain of Salvation Scarsick
Here we go again, nu metal influences, ON PROG! well there are many different genres in this, such as dance and punk but elitists will focus on nu metal. Absurd work by the way
9 |
10 | | Five Finger Death Punch American Capitalist
5fdp sux !!!!111.
Ok i might agree this time, but thus album is not that bad, the title track is great and some other stuff is more than listenable
7- |
11 | | Iron Maiden The Final Frontier
Space concept and iron maiden. Need to say more? Some of their best modern tracks are here, such as the talisman, wtwwb and coming home
8 1/2 |
12 | | Judas Priest Angel of Retribution
What a comeback
8 1/2 |
13 | | Deep Purple Purpendicular
Never heard anybody talking about this, well not complex as their masterpiece but pretty damn good
8 |
14 | | W.A.S.P. Dominator
This is high rated on sputnik, ok. But nobody mention it anyway, burning man may be my second favorite wasp track ever
9 |
15 | | Manowar Fighting the World
This album hot me into manowar, maybe it's this. Though you can't deny the first 3 tracks are awesome
8+ |
16 | | Scorpions Humanity: Hour I
A more dramatic approach for the band, not appreciated by many fans
8 |
17 | | Accept Russian Roulette
Two words: AIMING HIGH
8+ |
18 | | Kalmah For The Revolution
Sure less technical than previous stuff but it gets too much hate. The guitar work is awesome, listen to towards yhe sky. Deep growls are good too and almost every song is great
8 1/2 |
19 | | Arch Enemy Burning Bridges
After many years silverwing remains their best track
8+ |
20 | | Megadeth The System Has Failed
How come this is so underrated?! Classic thrasher such as blackmail the universe and back in the day meets mellow tracks such as of mice and men. Don't forget about their best modern track: the scorpion
9+ |
21 | | Metallica Death Magnetic
More than fine comeback
7 1/2 |
22 | | Anthrax We've Come for You All
I understand this could be less accessible, too heavy for mainstream audience and to "commercial" for metalheads, listen to nobody knows anything, one of the best drummings ever
8 |
23 | | Pantera Power Metal
Many of you will think this is ridicolous, and it is but undeniably catchy
7 |
24 | | Suicidal Tendencies 13
After 13 years Cyco Miko gave us this awesome funky metal lp. Apparently many s.t. fans died or changed tastes
8 1/2 |
25 | | Overkill From the Underground and Below
Darker, groovier and dirtier, a nice experiment
8 |
26 | | Testament Low
This grew on me with time
7 1/2 |
27 | | Gamma Ray Heading for Tomorrow
I can't help but die laughing anytime i see the album cover. If you ignire the cheesyness you will find some of the highest vocal range that will never be famous
8 |
28 | | Iced Earth Plagues of Babylon
Nobody seems to like poor Tim Owens
7 1/2 |
29 | | Trivium Ember to Inferno
While not among their best worÄ·s, their debut's low production made it sounds heavier
7 1/2 |
30 | | Savatage The Wake of Magellan
Savatage are a odd one, any metal lover knows them, anyone who listen to them falls in love but somehow they never reached the mainstream audience, even if they are pretty accessible. The title track is a masterpiece that many people will never hear
9 1/2 |
31 | | Immolation Harnessing Ruin
Even darker
8 |
32 | | Morbid Angel Gateways to Annihilation
Always forshadowed |
33 | | Disturbed Believe
Less nu metal angst, more introspection and better songwriting
David's best performance
8 1/2 |
34 | | Atheist Jupiter
Give it a chance
8 |
35 | | Prong Carved Into Stone
After early 90' they disappeared from fame. This album is such an hidden gem, go to listen put myself to sleep |
