Children Of Bodom Albums: Worst to First |
10 | | Children of Bodom Blooddrunk
The drop in quality from their first 5 albums to this is simply jarring. This is easily the closest the band has ever been to being mediocre.
Grade: D
Best Track: Banned From Heaven |
9 | | Children of Bodom Relentless Reckless Forever
A huge step above Blooddrunk, but still is nowhere near the best they can do.
Grade: C
Best Track: Was It Worth It? |
8 | | Children of Bodom Something Wild
While an enjoyable debut effort, the band still had a few kinks in their formula to work out before they could release something great.
Grade: C+
Best Track: Lake Bodom |
7 | | Children of Bodom Are You Dead Yet?
'Are You Dead Yet?' is by no means a bad record, but after coming off the winning streak COB had been on for the past 6 years, it is a bit of a disappointment.
Grade: B
Best Track: Living Dead Beat |
6 | | Children of Bodom I Worship Chaos
I find this to be the most underrated album in COB's discography. It is a minor step down in quality from Halo Of Blood, but personally, I had more fun with this one and find myself listening to it more often than it's predecessor.
Grade: B
Best Track: My Bodom (I Am the Only One) |
5 | | Children of Bodom Halo of Blood
After two lackluster releases, COB did a complete 180 and put out one of the finest albums of their latter day career. A solid return to form, and for my money, the heaviest album of their career.
Grade: B+
Best Track: All Twisted |
4 | | Children of Bodom Hatebreeder
Their first truly great album, and the one where they discovered their signature sound. It pains me to put it this low, but there are 3 more I enjoy slightly more.
Grade: A-
Best Track: Hatebreeder |
3 | | Children of Bodom Hexed
I went into Hexed completely unsure what I was getting myself into, seeing as how it was the first Children of Bodom album I had ever listened to. I am happy to say that I was not disappointed. My current album of 2019.
Grade: A
Best Track: Hecate's Nightmare |
2 | | Children of Bodom Hate Crew Deathroll
For this one, they simplified their formula and made it a little more accessible, and it really worked wonders for them. While I don't think it's their best musically, it is probably my personal favorite, and the one I revisit the most.
Grade: A
Best Track: Angels Don't Kill |
1 | | Children of Bodom Follow the Reaper
Probably not shocking anybody with my #1 pick, but it really is their strongest album overall. Every track on here slaps, and slaps hard. This is the record that every COB release should be compared to.
Grade: A+
Best Track: Everytime I Die |
