The Green Album

This album is boring and monotonous. There are some awesome ideas, but the fact that Crab, Glorious Day, Photograph and Knock-down Drag-out made it onto the record over Oh Lisa, Teenage Victory Song, The Christmas Song and Burning Sun is ridiculous.

Good: Don't Let Go, Hash Pipe, Island in the Sun, Smile, Simple Pages, O Girlfriend

Not good: the rest, but especially Crab. Fuck Crab.

2Radiohead
The Bends

Let me preface by saying that this is a great album, but Radiohead is defined by pushing their boundaries and innovating the wheel. On The Bends, they're merely using the wheel. You can see hints of their embrace of experimenting with their sound and some of my favorite songs of theirs is on here (Just, My Iron Lung) but the a lot has aged poorly, becoming run of the mill alt-rock.

Good: Just, My Iron Lung, (Nice Dream), The Bends, Street Spirit

Not Good: Planet Telex, Sulk, Black Star

Section.80

A good, not great, album. Some excellent tunes here (Ab-Souls Outro, Hiiipower among others) but too much innocuous hip hop. This was a necessary album for Kendrick for him to master his craft, but that doesn't mean it's better than TPAB, GKMC, UU and even DAMN.

Good: Fuck your ethnicity, ADHD, Ronald Reagan Era, Ab-Souls Outro, Hiiipower, Kush and Corinthians

Not good: Chapter Tem, Her vice

This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About

This isn't a bad album, it's a good foundation for their sound and style but it drones on and isn't as impressive as their next four albums.

Good: Dramamine, Talking Shit about a Pretty Sunset

Not Good: Tundra Desert, Breakthrough

5Arctic Monkeys
Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not

Ohhh boy here we go. It's a fine album, but it's too Strokes-y and Vines-y for me.

Some awesome tunes and some of their best work, but it's not a unique sound to them. They would go on to take bold steps that pay dividends (Humbug, AM, TBH+C). Even with this aesthetic, FWN perfected it.

Also, Mardy Bum is overrated

Good: The view from the afternoon, Dancefloor. perhaps vampire is a bit strong, San Francisco, a certain romance, red lights indicate, Riot Van

Not Good: Mardy Bum, you probably couldn't see, still take you home, dancing shoes
