hexfix93: Rec me good PC speakers and some modern dm

Sinternet 01.11.19	for speakers you probably want a pair of studio monitors for a true sound rather than one with added low end or emphasised mids. you want a flat response rate usually for that super accurate soundstaging. presonus is generally a good option at a lower budget (I used to have the e5's and can attest to their quality), but my biggest recommendation would be to go secondhand. try and find some jbl 305s for example, or anything from adam audio is pretty good. if i were you i'd take some lossless files with you into your nearest hifi store and demo some of your favourite tracks to see how each speaker colours the sound and then work from there, a lot of it comes down to personal preference

Studio monitors seem like they'd be a good investment. Aside from sound quality for music, I've been getting more serious with guitar but I don't have very good recording equipment. The jbl 305's are within my budget new actually, so gonna check more into those and some adam studio stuff. Also never thought to just try out sound files at a hi fi store, think I'm definitely gonna do that before I buy. If anyone else has recs for music or speakers let me know. Anyone here use any Polk Audio stuff before?

Hideous Divinity is cool too, I don't like them as much as HoP but they're close imo. And yeah hopefully get some more speaker recs.

BAT 01.14.19	i found a mini 2x15w amplifier in my grandmas basement than hooked car speakers up to it(iirc they came out of a mid 90s ford ranger), annd thaats what i use for my desktop. considering plugging my bassamp in and dedicated that as a sub.

hexfix93 01.14.19	Idk I used to use whatever, but I don't like buying cheaper electronics anymore. I've had some bad luck, especially with speakers not sounding great or crapping out in a year. Plus dm just sounds so good with the right speakers/headphones (all music does tho) The Logitech speakers I'm currently using are super old, but considering they are still standing and sound good, maybe I should just go for some good, more expensive Logitech speakers? But I know there's better out there, hopefully get some more recs. I'll keep digging too.

But @adolf, those JBL speakers Sin rec'd (I know he said studio monitors but they have regular speakers too) seem to be pretty good, so if you're still looking that brand seems to be worth checking for sure.

hexfix93 01.29.19	Na I didn't actually get to hear them yet, probably should've said that lol. A few friends were telling me good things about them though, just can't remember which pair it was. I've pretty much just been browsing online checking out specs/reviews of different speakers. Most people seem to think highly of them. Of course it's best to actually hear them first so I'm gonna hit the store this weekend and see whats up.
