| The REAL Alice in Chains album ranking
i hold authority over all Alice in chains(TM) lists here on sputnik. anyone else comprising lists of Alice in Chains(TM) music will be subject to litigation. | 1 | | Alice in Chains MTV Unplugged
best of both worlds, dirt and jar of flies, live, with a stellar vocal performance by Staley. | 2 | | Alice in Chains Jar of Flies
no description needed | 3 | | Alice in Chains Dirt
no description needed | 4 | | Alice in Chains Live
Live is where they shine | 5 | | Alice in Chains The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here
most underrated work AiC has ever put out. hollow, pretty done, stone, voices, title track, hung on a hook, choke. but unfortunately there is a chain of 5 meh songs that separates these amazing tracks from each other. | 6 | | Alice in Chains Black Gives Way to Blue
outstanding comeback album. acid bubble, private hell, when the sun rose again, all secrets known, and the title track are standouts. | 7 | | Alice in Chains Facelift
suffers from front load syndrome. i end this album on sunshine. bleed the freak up to sunshine are excellent songs and deserve a higher spot for sure, but man....the last 4 songs just held this album back for me. | 8 | | Alice in Chains Alice in Chains
i actually like this better than facelift in terms of songs. why is it lower? well, i think the production isnt that good, sound is too thin, layne sounds terrible and its completely depressing to hear him like that, and even though god am is one of my favorite songs, its kinda hard to sit and listen to this album thru and thru because of the reasons listed. some real boring fillers too. like nothing song and so close, heaven beside you and again. mediocre. self titled does have some outstanding songs tho, literally every other song i didnt mention is great. just severely hindered....they should re-record this today with the new production and duvall's vocals. | 9 | | Alice in Chains Sap
the love song............................brother was done better on unpugged, got me wrong makes me think of clerks, am i inside is golden, right turn isnt that good tbh. | 10 | | Alice in Chains Rainier Fog
just skip this one. literally only two good songs. (red giant and title track) | |

08.28.18 | I felt the same about 10 upon my first listen. It grows immensely. Weird to not mention The One You Know, though. Quickly became one of my favorite AiC songs. I came to think that it’s just about as good as BGWTB. The only songs I could even understand having an issue with are the slower cuts | Larkinhill
08.28.18 | Tripod is WAAAAYYY too fucking low. Top 3 in order imo: Dirt, Tripod, JOF. Also disagree with your assessment of Rainier Fog. It may be my fav of the post Layne albums. | Larkinhill
08.28.18 | Agreed about The One You Know. Outstanding track. | ArsMoriendi

Brother on Sap is amazing, Got Me Wrong is also amzing (and so is Clerks honestly,) Right Turn is pretty damn good to, Am I Inside is meh and Love Song is entertaining, it's okay for bands to have a sense of humor.
Man I disagree with your entire analysis of Sap, even your praise for Am I Inside... | Drifter
08.28.18 | i havent heard a single album by them still | Wildcardbitchesss
08.28.18 | you're wrong and I'm right | DonPastrami
08.29.18 | I didn’t say got me wrong and brother on sap were -bad-, but they do have versions that have 1,000,000 times more soul (unplugged) I’m the kind of dude that likes to listen to albums thru and thru so sap doesn’t offer me much compared to the rest of their discography. I might go ahead and rank their songs for more clarity on what I like, love, and hate of Alice In Chains.
The one you know bored me to death. DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUNTADUNNADUNNA the whole song with a chorus I expect from a mediocre post grunge band in the late 90s. You know, If the main riff wasn’t so monotonous, and had just two open palm muted chugs in between the DUN DUN DUN DUN it would have been a lot better. The drums try to fill in the gaps left by the guitar and doesn’t achieve the same effect as just two extra notes on guitar would do. This is also a nitpick, but Jerry’s initial vocal delivery of the first verse didn’t sound anything like Alice has ever done. The gruffness and rasp of IM A LITTLE ALIKE suits a band like seether or something. |
