June 2018 scrobbles
My top 25 most scrobbled artists for June 2018 |
1 | | Mayday Parade Tales Told By Dead Friends
yes, their new album is pretty good, but I had an even better time revisiting this and ALIR. |
2 | | Trophy Eyes Chemical Miracle
unfortunately I think the new album is gonna suck, but this one remains consistent as hell |
3 | | Elder Brother Stay Inside
Elder Brother's sophomore effort is lush alternative rock full of dreamy soundscapes yet just enough bite when needed. This fucking rules. |
4 | | Olivia Chaney Shelter
I've been pretty obsessed with Chaney since I stumbled across this album. Her voice is gorgeous and stunning. Seems people I rec'd it to enjoyed it, but it still needs a lot more love |
5 | | Juliana Daugherty Light
lovely under the radar-ish warm indie folk 2018 goodie (lots of those!) |
6 | | Sum 41 Does This Look Infected?
was my favorite album to jam in the car this month :] so nostalgic, was honestly surprised this holds up so well |
7 | | Snail Mail Lush
I'm still on the fence with this one. It's nice but does little to convince me it's better than most other artists doing the same sorta thing. but at 74 scrobbles, at least I gave it a fair shot |
8 | | Petal Magic Gone
Even if I think the singles remain some of the strongest tracks, this is still a very solid album |
9 | | Yellowcard Southern Air
ah, another nostalgic band I enjoyed jamming in the car this month. Hi Sowing :] |
10 | | Everclear So Much For The Afterglow
this album had several great singles, but their debut has more of a rock and roll punch. both are great nostalgic 90s albums |
11 | | Marcy Playground Marcy Playground
Ok, I hadn't heard anything besides Sex and Candy before a few weeks ago. Not sure how that happened, but I really enjoyed this. "One More Suicide" is probably more powerful now than it was back then for obvious reasons. but yeah this guy isn't the one-hit wonder I pegged him as. "Shapeshifter" was a cool album too |
12 | | Neko Case Blacklisted
really found this and Furnace Room Lullaby to be stronger than her new one, but I have a lot to go through still in her discog |
13 | | State Champs Living Proof
uh-oh. how did this get so high? something's wrong with me lol |
14 | | Offa Rex The Queen of Hearts
cool folk singer-songwriter featuring Olivia Chaney and someone else not sure who, haha. some really interesting instrumentation throughout that kind of reminds me of Golden Axe 2! |
15 | | Natalie Prass The Future and the Past
hmmm haven't really jammed this since it came out but seemed pretty bingeable at the time |
16 | | Fireworks Gospel
one of my favorite underrated pop-punk bands. check the track "Summer", preferably with the volume turned up outdoors or in the car |
17 | | Aisha Burns Argonauta
lovely under the radar-ish warm indie folk 2018 goodie #9 |
18 | | Eve 6 Horrorscope
album is ridiculously catchy and consistent. a bit nostalgic too, amirite? |
19 | | Molly Burch Please Be Mine
thanks to budgie for the rec. big Angel Olsen vibes |
20 | | TLC CrazySexyCool
man, this is one of the first albums I ever listened to as a kid. it still rules, and I somehow forgot it featured Andre 3000 |
21 | | Amber Pacific The Possibility and The Promise
jamming Mayday Parade this month reminded me of these guys, so they became part of my pop punk binge |
22 | | Third Eye Blind Third Eye Blind
sometimes I feel it's just a bit too long, but no mistaking it's one of the most important 90s alt rock albums |
23 | | Spanish Love Songs Schmaltz
I just discovered this, or it would be higher. Like The Menzingers but with lyrics that are more like early Say Anything or The Front Bottoms. kicks ass |
24 | | Jennifer Castle Angels of Death
yet another fantastic indie release that's going unnoticed by most the site. the country influences are subtle, but add a lot of depth to her sound. lovely stuff |
25 | | Go Radio Lucky Street
couldn't jam Mayday Parade without revisiting this as well. insanely catchy alt-rock |
