| 2005 | 1 | | Avenged Sevenfold City of Evil
Starts out rather slow, but the second half of the album is just a hit after a hit after a hit. This is one of the best modern heavy metal albums I've heard. Amazing stuff. | 2 | | John Petrucci Suspended Animation | 3 | | Sabaton Primo Victoria
This is one hell of a debut for one of the biggest metal bands in the world. The obvious star of the show here is the opening title track, probably their biggest hit; however, almost all other songs here are worth a mention as well: Into the Fire is one of my all time favorite Sabaton songs, Metal Machine is a really cool tribute to the most legendary heavy metal titans of the past and Counterstrike is very close to my heart as an Israeli. Not every song here is a winner but most of them are, and each one brings a lot of intersing things to the table. Great fucking album, easily one of this year's best. | 4 | | Earthless Sonic Prayer
Fantastic album. So fun! | 5 | | Kamelot The Black Halo | 6 | | Arch Enemy Doomsday Machine
Not their best one, but still a great Arch Enemy album nonetheless. | 7 | | Bruce Dickinson Tyranny of Souls
Terrific. I expected nothing less from someone like Dickinson. Not all songs here are masterpieces, but it's still a great album for all its runtime. | 8 | | Kreator Enemy of God | 9 | | Black Label Society Mafia
This is my first BLS album - I like what I hear. Not a very memorable album, but a fun one indeed! | 10 | | Neal Morse ?
This album is pretty short and sweet - well, at least in Morse's terms - but boy, is it sweet. Loved it a lot. Phenomenal album! | |
