Great bands that became awful later

Just some bands that were great in their early days but since then have either been on downhill slopes, or were on a downhill slope for a long time.
1In Flames

Literally the worst downfall in the history of metal, modern In Flames is almost comically bad. See Soilwork for a far superior transition from melodic death metal to alt-metal/metalcore.
2Our Lady Peace

Their first four albums are amazing but my god did they get dull after that.
3Yes

Literally everything they released from 1987 onwards was trash.
4Incubus

An open message to Brandon Boyd: Don't get Skrillex in your production team for your next album.
5Weezer

It looked like the days of bad Weezer had left us behind, until they released Pacific Daydream.
6Biffy Clyro

These guys were interesting until they started releasing entire records full of cheesy, shitty ballads.
7Fall Out Boy

They were never the greatest band to begin with but i always had a soft spot for their early stuff. That being said, they've been on a downward slope for a while now.
8Queensryche

Thankfully their last two albums have been pretty good, but dear God were they on a bad run for a long time before that.
9Skillet

16 year old christian me loved these guys, and 22-year old atheist me still has a soft spot for their early material, but the last 2 albums they've released have been absolutely garbage pop-metal. Avoid at all costs.
10Sonic Syndicate

Eden Fire was great, Only Inhuman was good if a bit bland, since then the band has got progressively worse and worse.
11Black Sabbath

13 was a good album for Sabbath to finish on, but I'm still partially convinced they did that because they didn't want Forbidden to be their last record.
12Metallica

An obvious choice, but it does need saying. Hopefully they can keep up the quality of Hardwired... to Self Destruct, which wasn't anything amazing, but definitely miles better than anything they'd put out in the 10 years previous to that.
