101 more albums I will listen to and write something about
A continuation of yesterday's list. I'll listen and jot, but not making anything serious of this. No more than 20 recs today Papi. |
1 | | Cardiacs Sing to God
Uhmmm, this was quite unexpected. A very strange blend of punk, prog, folk, etc... to rival the weirdness of any out there. A heck of a lot to digest, idk if I like the vocals perfectly, and it might be too in your face overall, but I know its real good, and it will very likely grow on me. For now:

Inspired by butcher's Bowery blog, I figured I needed to go ahead and get on this one. You want information on this album go to butcher because I can't do it nearly the justice he can, but basically this thing is wild, crazy, fun, and full of attitude as a proper punker should be. |

Holy crap does this thing RIFF. I love the music but the lyrics sound like they were written by an angsty middle schooler who just discovered atheism for the first time, so in other words, they suck. You can ignore them most of the time though, but the guy says "crucify" or a derivative of the word so many times its almost laughable. |
22 | | Immortal At the Heart of Winter |
23 | | Windir 1184 |
24 | | Nokturnal Mortum The Voice of Steel |
25 | | Taake Kong Vinter |
26 | | MF DOOM MM.. Food |

29 | | Shining (NOR) Blackjazz
4.1
Really crazy industrial jazzy metal that although cheesy at times still rules pretty hard. I had to check this when I saw the guy did sax for Casualties of Cool as well. |
30 | | Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds Henry's Dream
4.3
Another awesome piece from the legend of bluesy post punk himself. Up there with Let Love In and The Firstborn Is Dead for my favorites of his. |
31 | | The Tiger Lillies The Brothel to the Cemetery |
32 | | Beach House Teen Dream
4.0
Less dreamy than Bloom but a lot more varied in songwriting, this comes as one of their best releases for sure. |
33 | | Oxbow Let Me Be A Woman |
34 | | Forest Swords Engravings |
35 | | Amenra Mass III
4.3
I really like these guys' brand of post-sludge. After hearing Mass VI as an intro to these guys, I'm probably gonna go through their discog, and this one was another great step towards that.
