Deathcore 2017
because y'know sputnik loves this fucking genre.
2017 (imo) is the best year Deathcore has ever seen, with bad bands getting their shit together and already good bands becoming even greater.
(Favorite songs presented on the bottom of each paragraph) |
1 | | Enterprise Earth Embodiment
This album fucking destroys. Best dxc intrumentals this year with Dan Watson shredding behind them. Top 5 Aoty easily.
Draconion Oculus |
2 | | Bodysnatcher Death Of Me
Beatdown does beatdown as beatdown does beatdown.
Death of Me |
3 | | Oceano Revelation
I could honestly care less about oceano lol someone tell me if this was okay |
4 | | Boris the Blade Warpath
Criminally underrated.
Backstabber |
5 | | In Dying Arms In Dying Arms
The remake of this is vastly superior to the original.
Famous last Words |
6 | | The Acacia Strain Gravebloom
Acacia does Acacia as Acacia does Acacia
Bitter Pill |
7 | | Shadow of Intent Reclaimer
Holy cock and balls this album is a fucking journey. A seemingly halo themed gimmick expands way past anyone's expectations for a first time listener. The symphonic flows with the instrumentals perfectly along with Ben Duerrs vocals.
The Heretic Prevails |
8 | | Fit for an Autopsy The Great Collapse
FFAA brings a heavy and emotional experience through The Great Collapse. Easily in my top 5 of the year
Black Mammoth |
9 | | Thy Art Is Murder Dear Desolation
Thy Art moves even farther away from Deathcore, presenting us with another amazing album
Death Dealer |
10 | | The Faceless In Becoming a Ghost
DDDDIIIIIIIIIGGIIINNNGGGG
THE GRAVE
THE SICKNESS
IS TOIGHTEINING
(this album fucking destroys alright?)
Digging the Grave |
11 | | Signs of the Swarm The Disfigurement Of Existence
Signs first album left me wanting more.
Too which they brought into The Disfigurement Of Existence, CJs vocals are absolutely killer.
Final Phase |
12 | | She Must Burn Grimoire
Make Them Suffer and Carnifex had a baby
they named her "Grimoire"
weird fuckin name for a kid though
After Death |
13 | | Rings of Saturn Ultu Ulla
Although this album doesnt seem to have the unpredictable ear rape of Lugal Ki En, the albums formulaic flow releases a more constructed technical side to rings
which is completely opposite to what rings should be. Lugal was much better but Ultu still kicks ass
Inadequate |
14 | | Born of Osiris The Eternal Reign
A very welcome remake to Osiris's Ep that got them the popularity they needed.
(fuckin') Bow Down |
15 | | Slaughter To Prevail Misery Sermon
let me just copypasta a past description I made of this album aaaanndd
I really tried to like this album.
I've slogged through this beast multiple times attempting to find quality's in each and every song, to which there was. In like 2 songs
And its a shame too, because you CAN hear the potential in these guys. or maybe its just the vocalist carrying every song to a possible enjoyment
But who knows if it can actually be released, Alex is much too good of a vocalist for this
Chronic Slaughter |
16 | | Lorna Shore Flesh Coffin
Another one of my AOTY this album is dark AND brutal. Wow!
Flesh Coffin |
17 | | Spite Nothing Is Beautiful
ITS KILL OR BE FUCKING KILLED
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
(thats the whole album btw)
Kill or be Killed |
18 | | Aversions Crown Xenocide
Techincal aleincore???WOOOWWWW
Xenocide absolutely shreds though
Stillborn Existence |
19 | | A Night in Texas Global Slaughter
Where the fuck did Rheese Peters go/10
The Moral Decay |
20 | | Winds of Plague Blood of My Enemy
Guys, Winds of Plague made a good album
no seriously I promise
This Album is seriously good. WOP stop trying to make every single album a DTW 2.0 and instead switch gears into a new focus. And it pays off heavily. Easily in my Top 3 of the year
5150 |
21 | | Emmure Look at Yourself
Guys, Emmure made a good album
no seriously I promise
I don't know who the fuck Josh Travis is but god bless his soul. The instrumentals are so fucking brooootal and fun. Franki sounds like Franki but Franki sounds actually really good behind this production and instrumentals
Call me Ninib |
22 | | Make Them Suffer Worlds Apart
I don't think its even possible to for Make Them Suffer to release a bad album. They move from their Deathcore sound into a Death/Metalcore Melodic mix that just sounds absolutely beautiful. Hell I knew this album was going to be so good i bought it on vinyl before even listening to any material from it. (And it goes without saying that you shouldn't do that, since i did the same thing with Sworn In and uh woops.)
Uncharted |
23 | | Suicide Silence Suicide Silence
no |
