| Top Ten Bathory Songs
Didn't include any songs from Hammerheart, Twilight Of The Gods, or Blood On Ice because to me, the black metal era Bathory and the viking era Bathory are like two different bands. Love them both but having them both on here would just feel weird, they wouldn't mix well. | 1 | | Bathory Blood Fire Death
Blood Fire Death
10 minutes of pure black metal that continues to build and build, it was this song right here that made me realize Blood Fire Death was both Bathory's best album, and the best black metal album period. | 2 | | Bathory Blood Fire Death
A Fine Day To Die
This is the song that got a lot of people into black metal, and without this one song, we probably wouldn't have bands like Darkthrone or Immortal. Has the most killer riff ever. | 3 | | Bathory The Return of the Darkness and Evil
The Return Of The Darkness And Evil
4 minutes of straight, unadulterated evil. This song gives no compromises, and is an amazing closer to a classic record. | 4 | | Bathory Under the Sign of the Black Mark
Enter The Eternal Fire
One of Bathory's greatest riffs, this is one of the first times the band ever did epic songwriting. At the time, it was Bathory's longest songs, and the production, guitar tone, and majesty of this song truly capture the majesty and scope of this song. | 5 | | Bathory The Return of the Darkness and Evil
Born For Burning
Not a lot to say about this one to be honest, great riff, lyrics, and just downright evil. | 6 | | Bathory The Return of the Darkness and Evil
Reap Of Evil
The sound on this song is incredible, this song changes tempos in a matter of seconds and the transition is seamless. One of the greatest outros on a black metal song ever. | 7 | | Bathory Blood Fire Death
The Golden Walls Of Heaven
A perfect song to follow up A Fine Day to Die, vocals are on full aggression here, and the lyrics truly make you imagine a battle of Heaven in your mind. | 8 | | Bathory Under the Sign of the Black Mark
Call From The Grave
Another great riff by the band, and a truly terrifying song. Reading the lyrics, it really makes you feel like they were written by the words of a man who was buried alive, and Under The Sign's sound matches the tone they were going for here. | 9 | | Bathory Bathory
Raise The Dead
A creepy song, and the standout track on the self-titled debut. The bells being chimed at the beginning followed by the ambient heart beat are the perfect way to open a song like this, and helped paved the way for future black metal. | 10 | | Bathory Blood Fire Death
For All Those Who Died
Wasn't sure what to put as my tenth spot, but decided to go with this since the vocal performance on here is stellar. | |

05.06.17 | Read description to find out why there are no songs from the viking era on here. This is pretty much my favorite metal band ever, second only to Megadeth and Black Sabbath.
