Seeing the Dear Hunter Tonight

Haven't had much of a chance to spin the latest album yet--I've listened to it twice, which is just enough time to realize how much you've forgotten about Acts I-IV. But Casey always puts on a great show, and half the fun is his between-song banter, so I'm definitely excited for this one. List is a mixture of recent digs and albums I'm looking to check out soon.
1The Dear Hunter
Act V: Hymns With The Devil In Confessional

Digging what I remember, definitely need to listen a few more times.
2From Indian Lakes
Everything Feels Better Now

These guys (this guy?) have yet to disappoint. Excited about this one.
3Opeth
Sorceress

Actually just saw them play the day the album came out, and snagged a signed copy there. Like 1, have to give it a few more listens, but what I've heard so far definitely represents a major step up from Pale Communion. Then again, I legitimately forgot all about that album for a year, so that's not a particularly high hurdle to clear...
4Anciients
Voice of the Void

Just heard about this recently. Band fell off my radar for a while, but I remember Heart of Oak being my jam for a solid couple of months. Guess I need to dust that one off again, too.
5Bon Iver
22, A Million

This has been my go-to going-to-bed album since Saturday--which isn't to say it's boring, but that Justin Vernon's as good as setting trances as he is trends.
6Dance Gavin Dance
Mothership

I think I'm just a sucker for some sweet, sweet, syrupy post-hardcore (or, y'know, pop-funk or whatever), but all three singles for this have gotten steady rotation for the past month, and I'm definitely impressed by the turnaround time since the quite-good Instant Gratification and (seeming) consistency in quality.
7Warpaint
Heads Up

Not exactly what I was expecting from the band, but definitely not a disappointment. Another one I've got to spend some more time with.
8Meshuggah
The Violent Sleep of Reason

Already preordered, just waiting for it to hit my doorstep. Gonna be an intense Friday night.
9Survive
RR7349

Half of this band did the music for Stranger Things, which is a pretty good indication of the synth-tastic sound on display here.
10John K. Samson
Winter Wheat

Honestly never really got into the Weakerthans, but I've liked Samson's solo stuff. Plus, this has a pretty nifty title and artwork.
