ArsMoriendi
01.30.16 | Just making sure Zappa is on here, though your choice isn't Roxy & Elsewhere so I'm kind of disappointed since Roxy > Zappa in New York. |
MrSirLordGentleman
01.30.16 | But Roxy & Elsewhere is here too :v |
theBoneyKing
01.30.16 | Great list. Live albums are very underappreciated. |
ArsMoriendi
01.30.16 | "But Roxy & Elsewhere is here too :v"
Oh fuck, must've missed it. Good job then! I approve :) |

01.30.16 | So many wins here. Genesis' Seconds Out is missing and Dire Straits' On the Night > Alchemy. But again, soooo many classics into your list. |
MrSirLordGentleman
01.30.16 | but dude, Alchemy has Telegraph Road, and I actually forgot about Seconds Out, might delete one from here and add it. Also, you still need to check 38 and 24 |
Jethro42
01.30.16 | For some reasons, I never approached 38, I will correct it. As for Rainbow, shame on me I only know Kill the King, Long Live Rock 'n Roll and The Man on the Silver Mountain, plus a couple more that I don't really remember. |
AlexKzillion
01.30.16 | List needs All the Worlds a Stage. |
Jethro42
01.30.16 | glad you've included 9, 25, 26, 45, 47, 52, 53 (I own Live in Japan DVD and the setlist really differs, so I'm gonna check out 53. Also cool to see 63 (amazing one), 67 of course, 74 (!!!), 85, 93, 94, 100 and many more ;) |
Frippertronics
01.30.16 | magma live tho |

01.30.16 | http://rutube.ru/video/2729da0c087eb93af0ac476990a441d4/ there you go man. Audio quality isn't that good since it is an online version of course |
lz41
01.30.16 | 41 & 90 are spot on |
Jethro42
01.30.16 | Whoa thanks a lot SirLord dude. No problema for the sound, it's good enough. the visual is really great. This has a huge sentimental value since I saw that show here in Montreal. It was opened by Jean-Luc Ponty. What a night!
Jean-Luc Ponty Live would also be a good addition to your list. |
MrSirLordGentleman
01.30.16 | I've only checked studio material from Ponty. The thing with the DVD version of Paris is that a small change in the setlist (when compared to the original 1980 version) improves the concert A LOT, plus you can appreciate the funny shit the band did on stage |
wham49
01.30.16 | Genesis Live is better than seconds out, but great list
couple I would include
Springsteen75-85
GD/ one from the vault
Peter and the Test tube babies/ Pissed and Proud
IM/ Maiden Japan |
Jethro42
01.30.16 | Yeah the setlist looks really great. And yes, it's a real treat to see them playing live. I once had a DVD bootleg that I did homemade from a download. A complete show during their heydays too. But during the transfer, the format didn't work and I was confined to have it only in audio. Shit happens, and I don't have that precious video anymore. Only in audio:[ |

01.30.16 | Yeah 5 the DVD mate |

01.30.16 | did you see these shows dad? |
MrSirLordGentleman
01.30.16 | I'm your mom. Show some respect boy |

01.30.16 | Great stuff, as expected. But no 100 item list should be missing:
Rory Gallagher - Irish Tour '74
Slayer - Decade of Aggression
Eric Clapton - Eric Clapton's Rainbow Concert
Motorhead - Everything Louder Than Everyone Else
Also, Made in Japan is the best thing ever but other DP live albums need more love too:
Deep Purple - California Jamming
Deep Purple - Live in Stockholm 1970 |
JamieTwort
01.30.16 | 2 Rainbow and 2 Zeppelin live albums but only 1 Deep Purple one? There's something very, very wrong there.
Nice list otherwise though. |
JamieTwort
01.30.16 | and I second Irish Tour '74, unless you discounted it for being blues or something. Either way it's one of the very best. |
ryu
01.30.16 | Nailed it. I'd probably add a few more.....
Iced Earth - Alive in Athens
The Gathering - Sleepy Buildings
Green Carnation - A night under the dam
Pain of Salvation - 12:5
The Cure - Trilogy
|
Titan
01.30.16 | great stuff......you certainly covered a lot of ground
Springsteen75-85
GD/ one from the vault [2] |

01.30.16 | It's a sirlord rock list, it was going to be nothing other than impeccable. 87 rules |
MrSirLordGentleman
01.30.16 | The thing is Jamie, that most of the time the production in other DP's live isn't that good so it is pretty difficult for me to enjoy them; I could add one from the MKIII era but I never really loved Coverdale's live voice.
As for a Gallagher's live album, it's not that it isn't 100% rock (I added a Marley album after all) but it is just that I've only checked his studio material |
Sevengill
01.30.16 | Great fucking list. 24, 33, 37 are the best ever. |
JamieTwort
01.30.16 | The rawness of some of the classic Purple live albums is all part of the charm. As for Mk. III, California Jamming has to be the best live recording of that era but it is pretty raw. Coverdale's vocal performance on that album's version of Mistreated is absolutely stunning though and easily as impressive as any of Gillan's live vocal performances.
Live rock doesn't get any better than live 70's Purple for me. |
TwigTW
01.30.16 | Nice to see 49 on the list. |

01.30.16 | Where the fuck is How The West Was Won? |
