|Pro's+con's Of Shuffled Songs.|
As the list titled suggests, I'll shuffle 15 songs and find 1 Pro and 1 Con about each song shuffled. Lets hope this doesn't suck.
|1|| ||Dave Matthews Band|
Stay (Wasting Time)
Pro: The opening verse is really good. The vocals mix in with the music so well, and set up for a good song.
Con: Although enjoyable at first I sometimes find myself getting annoyed with the gospel singers in the chorus. Esph the "Don't Wanna Don't Wanna" Bit.
Of Wolf And Man
Pro: The big chorus. Metallica always does them well.
Con: A bit the same all the way through out (Until the solo near the end) in terms of the music being played. Thrash Thrash.
|3|| ||At The Drive In. |
Pro: The vocals (as usual) shine in this song. "Have you ever tasted skin"
Con: Short. Understandable as it's album opener, but I always feel it gets going just as it could screech into another verse/chorus/bridge or whatever they would create.
Pro: The overall sound. The music mixed with Chris's strong voice create this stand out track from Vida La Vida. It just sounds big. Brilliantly created.
Con: The chorus is repeated a lot within a short space of music. Maybe they could of wrote just extra verses rather then repeating it so much.
|5|| ||Say Anything|
Yellow Cat (Slash) Red Cat.
Pro: The lyrics. Theres so much going on from a simple incident of his cats seemingly fighting in the yard. This was one of the many songs that prove Say Anything are way above a lot of things in the so called 'pop punk' genre.
Con: The music just churns on behind Max's voice. They could of done something else. That drum beat gets awful annoying sometimes.
|6|| ||Nine Inch Nails|
Pro: This ones a slow builder. It probably leads into Track 7, but on its own its a simple 4 minute piece of just a simple steel pan(?) tap tap.
Con: Quite honestly it's not very exiting and only would work when playing through the whole of Ghosts. Not one to pick out and listen to individually.
|7|| ||The Offspring|
The Kids Aren't Allright *Wise Guy Remix*
Pro: It kinda works. The slightly Jazz and soft hip-hop beats do actually go in a weird way.
Con: Takes away from the serious message of the song. Maybe they shouldn't of messed with this song seeing the message behind it.
|8|| ||Minus The Bear|
Pro: Just great musically. They really create atmosphere with their music. It's really good.
Con: Not their most exciting piece lyrically.
|9|| ||Sunny Day Real Estate|
Song About An Angel
Pro: Aw man. The vocals, what else. The raw screech and emotionally heights they reach without even sounding annoying or cringe worthy is special. When he says "Sometimes you see right through me!" It's good. Really good.
Con: Musically i felt as if it could of built more as the final minutes played, the vocals sore but the music stays the same level. They should of come for a bigger finish. Really play.
Digging My Own Grave
Pro: Ha theres so much I like about this song. The soft female vocals behind him in the chorus. The smooth piano that creates a almost 1920's black and white detective show setting.
Con: Well...I guess if you could find it boring? Not really sure, as for the song it is, it does it's self really well.
|11|| ||The Cure|
Pictures Of You
Pro: The sadness. You really feel it through Roberts voice. It's a good song about losing.
Con: Sometimes too sad to listen to on a happy day.
|12|| ||Sigur Ros|
Untitled 4 (Njosnavelin)
Pro: The singing. It's nice. Really nice. No idea what it says or the language (Icelandic?) but I know it fits the song and really creates a calming atmosphere even in a busy house hold.
Con: Again dependent on the mood of the listener. Most songs are, but with Sigur Ros i feel I really need to be in the mood to listen to them to enjoy them most. I can't just shuffle them on during the day.
|13|| ||Streetlight Manifesto|
A Moment Of Violence
Pro: Ska! Go Play! The music comes alive. Which I actually enjoy more then the voice in the song.
Con: The voice. Brings it down a bit I feel. Could of been sung differently.
|14|| ||Billy Talent|
Pro: The guitar and bridge towards the end are good and show some difference in a very similar Billy Talent album
Con: Way too chorus-centerd. Felt they could of done more with this song and didn't need to fit it in a 3 minute time frame like so many of their other songs.
|15|| ||Rise Against|
Rumors Of My Demise Have Been Greatly Exaggerated
Pro: "Lets take this one day at time , I'll hold your hand if you hold mine, The time that we kill is what keeps us alive" .. "We Came In Search Of Answers! We left empty handed again!". Great, strong lyrics.
Con: Umm. I guess you could say not much musically, but its more about the words here. I do wish they could of made this a 6 minute epic like they did with Survive on the last album. They could of really made that bridge part huge .
