10.28.15 | Oh god I've seen Color Morale. Fucking awful live. 30-minute set, during which they managed to play their way through 4 songs, none of which were close to being their best or most popular. All of thm were half-assing apart from the vocalist who looked liked he was about to pass out the whole time. He did this thing where after every song he spent five fucking minutes talking about his personal life whilst falling on death ears, no-one paid attention and clearly he was pissed off. Pull that talk shit if you're the headliner but when you're the second of three support acts and the first absolutely smashed it out the park don't become stupid fucking talking band. |

10.28.15 | When I saw In Fear and Faith in 2012 they were barely audible which wasn't their fault sure it's down to the sound guy, but they kinda just gave up and did nothing to rectify the issue which led to 80% of the crowd just fucking them off and going to the bar. |

10.28.15 | Mastodon has a bad rep for their live vocals. I thought Katatonia was kind of weak when I saw them in 2011. Russian Circles was a disappointment although I wouldn't go so far to say their live show was bad. |

10.28.15 | They are my favorite band of all time, but Opeth were really iffy for years as far as live shows are concerned. If you watch some of the gigs from the early 2000s, they were very sloppy.
I've personally never been to a bad show. I've seen a lot of bands that have a terrible reputation around here like Periphery, the Faceless, Sylosis...etc, and they've all put on great live shows (even though I'm not a big fan of any of these bands). |

10.28.15 | Holly Herndon was pretty comedically bad when I saw her too, bunch of weak voice wails and some hipster cunt playing a lo-fi version of gmod spamming lettuce and noodles on the map then followed by beta af textures from the beginning of the 3D era of gaming or something jumbled around |

10.28.15 | "one time every member except the the drummer and vocalist has their back to the audience for the entire set"
I have seen bands do this before what the fuck is up with that? A lot Like Birds and 68 both spent most of the show looking at the back of the stage.
'68 was probably the worst show I ever saw, they spent most of the facing the back wall, constantly improvising poorly, they'd be in the middle of the song and slow it down or start playing something totally different killing all momentum they were building. Between almost every song they were telling us to buy their album with the vocalist half stuttering over himself when trying to talk to the audience. I left partway through, complete bullshit.
Attack Attack! back in the day at warped tour, the vocalist was completely out of breathe only poorly screaming every few words or so, everything sounded muddied, some people in the audience were actualling booing them.
Some random hardcore band, played so god damned loud my mouth was involuntarily clattering, they just sounded like a blast of noise and I had to leave the venue because my mouth wouldn't stop clattering.

Thats funny. Just saw '68 and it was very much the same. They had a stange setup where they would face each other instead of the crowd. They would play some groovy stuff and then stop and then switch off soloing. Kind of annoying. They seem pretty self righteous as well. |

10.28.15 | "36 Crazyfists is pretty bad live" - Agreed. When I saw them a few years ago, their objective seemed to be to play every song at the fastest tempo possible, ruining their slightly more subdued (or at least slower) numbers in the process. And they invoked every bad hardcore show cliche (the "wall of death," etc.) which is pretty much a guaranteed groan and eye roll from me.
Having said that, I've only seen them once at a festival, and there have been some bands in the past who've disappointed me at festivals only to completely blow me away when I saw them headline. Here's hoping I just caught the guys on an off performance. |

10.28.15 | gonna quote pedro70512 because his experience was identical to mine
"Worst concert I ever went to was (wait for it) Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Saw them at Foxwoods from the nosebleed seats and it was almost unbearable. The interludes were long, boring, and melodramatic, and it was all based around a story that made no sense whatsoever. The violin looked for all the world like it was mimed to a backing track and whenever a musician played a solo, it looked like a desperate attempt to make sure someone noticed him for a change over all the smoke and lasers. After the first hour and a half, they announced "and for the second half of our show...!" and most of the audience headed for the exits. It had to have been embarrassing for them."
yeah there is no way any band could be worse than Trans Siberian Orchestra tbh |

10.28.15 | The only "bad" concert experience I've had was going to see As Blood Runs Black live back in '09 or '10. They were coming to a local theater so I figured I'd shell out ten bucks to see them. The problem with the show was that For the Fallen Dreams was opening for them and their front man kept hyping the crowd the wrong way.
I have no problem with getting the crowd pumped but when you're yelling stuff like "fuck you faggots let's go" and "this crowd fuckin' sucks make a pit you assholes" it tends to backfire. The vibe between the band and the crowd was really awkward and it didn't help with the overall progression of the concert.
Put this in another thread but thought it was relevant. |

BMTH are also coming to Moscow in Olympic Stadium on 9th December. 12.13.15 | CalculatingInfinity: I've seen them in 2008 and 2011. In 2011 in particular it was the tour in which Akerfeldt refused to do any growl and the setlist was quite 'eh'. The humor in between was sort of mediocre, always going through the usual share of blasphemies and Italian swear words musicians apparently can pick up at a glance.. And then the drummer did a 8 minute long obscene solo that I still remember, it was so boring a friend of mine I was with at the gig just said he couldn't hold anymore and just wanted to leave.
