10.19.15 | It's good to hear some positivity, hope you continue to recover and you're feeling as well as you can do in the next few months :] Just approaching the winter so I'm stocking up on Vitamin D and dug the lightbox out - though today I'm more focused on finishing this fecking coursework task >. |

10.19.15 | Must get 1 on vinyl!!!!
There are good days and bad days. It's important though to try and not be overwhelmed by depression. Stay active, go places, meet friends, etc., because isolation is the worst thing. |

10.19.15 | i know that too well spado, regardless i feel optimistic rn. and even if it will (inevitably) come to that, i think i'll be able to go another round. thanks everybody, appr |

10.19.15 | "Remember, what goes up must come down, if you feel good now a really shitty period will come after that."
and a really good period will come after that, followed by a shitty one, and another good one, etc etc. Nothing is ever totally good or bad, bro |

10.19.15 | the one thing i've learned with absolute certainty from getting my depression treated is that any sort of anti-depressant only makes things worse |

10.19.15 | ello zak, it basically means i'm not completely crazy yet. well, meds have helped me before and will continue to help me during these dark months |

10.19.15 | It seems like I'll get stuck in a depressive mood at almost a drop of a hat lately. Kind of stressed the hell out cause of money woes, though I am starting a job if not this week next week for sure. I also have a therapy session this week so there's that too; even if it's a source of my money issues lol.
I am really glad to see that someone is able to move past their issues; keep it up man |

10.19.15 | "how are you doing today sputnik?"

10.19.15 | have you tried smoking weed every day? |

10.19.15 | Stay strong dude! glad to see someone reaching the light after a dark period. Avoid the negative comments, and don't let anyone to pull you down. |
magicuba
10.19.15 | I happened to experience a little depression too. Music helps a lot. Weed helps some people too, but not everyone. I am glad to read you feel better now, pursuing new stimuli and keeping yourself busy are the best things you can do. Also talking to someone helps |
Judio!
10.19.15 | Weed and depression do not go well together. Take this from experience. |

10.19.15 | Glad to hear man, wish I could say the same but it's probably the other way around for me, feel as if I'm sinking even more into depression as of late. |
hal1ax
10.19.15 | ahh I'm sorry man. Unfortunately it's fairly common for depression to accompany forms of psychotic disorders, but it will pass. personality disorders can be really hard, but it's so good that you have a positive & optimistic outlook. hope all goes well for you. |
Artuma
10.19.15 | glad things have been going well for you. for me it's the same as ever: bad decisions, low self-esteem and laziness keep making me miserable |

10.19.15 | "Weed and depression do not go well together. Take this from experience."
It really depends on the person, for me at least it has helped more than the anti-deppresant but of course I'm not a pothead that smokes everyday either.
Glad you're getting through it, it motivates me to see people that can win to such a terrible condition. It has been literally the worst year of my life thanks to love-related problems and I've come to a point I really think there's no solution, but seeing people can actually do it gives me a lot of hope |

10.19.15 | Good stuff, man. I hope to one day know what depression remission feels like. |
Mongi123
10.19.15 | Yea depression is not a terminal illness like some people make it out to be. Giving up is never the way out no matter what the situation is. Look at it this way: How could you develop more strength and experience the beautiful accomplishment of overcoming it completely when you're dead? What I often tell my best friend, and he's still here thankfully. Seriously though, to anyone who is still here who has it, you're stronger than you realize and you're not weak. My heart goes out to you :) |

10.19.15 | "It really depends on the person, for me at least it has helped more than the anti-deppresant but of course I'm not a pothead that smokes everyday either."
Yeah I'm sure this is true. I smoked everyday for about half a year while I was depressed and all it managed to do was make my depression worse by making me lazier and more hopeless about the situations I was in. After a couple months I wasn't even getting high anymore. I can really only enjoy weed now when I'm not depressed and only as a once in a while thing. |
DrMaximus
10.19.15 | "How could you develop more strength and experience the beautiful accomplishment of overcoming it completely when you're dead?"
Because the poignant feelings of depression are so incessant that it outweighs any type of future accomplishment. Hence, suicide. |
Trebor.
10.19.15 | Been getting treatment for major depressive disorder, felt the worst I've ever felt a couple weeks ago but I'm doing OK now
Hope everybody here makes it out |
Mongi123
10.19.15 | @DrMaximus Believe me, that much I've come to realize. The point I try to emphasize with that is that striving for future accomplishment is better than just, not necessarily commiting suicide, but just giving up physically and just laying on the couch for the whole day with your thoughts comsuming you. I understand that summonimng the strength to get up is the hard part. Sorry if I sounded blunt in that last comment haha didn't mean to I always treat this subject with care :) |

10.19.15 | great news, dude |
Trebor.
10.19.15 | "Yea depression is not a terminal illness like some people make it out to be. "
idk it pretty much is if you have major depressive disorder. Like it doesn't matter how happy you are in general, some days you're going to feel depressed, maybe only for a couple of hours, and that's OK
I think acceptance is more important than trying to fight it and cure it you know
Like try to have fewer episodes, but when you do have an episode, don't beat yourself up over it, just ride it out and know you'll be OK soon |
Trebor.
10.19.15 | "Also probably best to avoid medication for it."
Dude I was super anti medication for a long time too, until it became too much and I was having suicidal thoughts and couldn't even go about my day. My antidepressant has been super helpful so far and I definitely think some people need it |
MrSirLordGentleman
10.19.15 | Yeah I've been fighting depression for like 7 years now but it is this year the one that's been a true hellhole, it is difficult for people that have never suffered of it to understand depression, it is way more than just "feeling sad"
Yeah I started taking anti-deppresants three months ago since I was having suicidal thoughts too and no matter how anti-medication I was since I was totally desperate for help, sadly besides helping me to sleep better I don't feel any difference with the medication, feel as shitty everyday as I used to before them |
Trebor.
10.19.15 | Also I have an unbearable stomach condition and the antidepressant I take is the only thing that helps for it so yeah |
DrMaximus
10.19.15 | Np, mong dude, I get what you were saying. I obviously agree how being productive is better than simply sitting around having your thoughts consume you, it's just that motivation is an incredibly difficult characteristic to come by when you're engulfed with apathy. That's unfortunately what I struggle with currently. |

10.19.15 | I believe that everyone you encounter every day is suffering in one form or another. We are all at varying degrees of death and we are all going to die eventually. The key is to realize your problems and deal with them without allowing them to increase the suffering of others, and for the love of God, try to enjoy your youth while you have it because true pain, suffering and loss are coming. No easy way out fellas. Live till you die. |
