I have Insomnium

Went back through these guys discog after not listening to any of their stuff for a while. Results were actually pretty surprising.
1Insomnium
In the Halls of Awaiting

A good start. Atmospheric. Interesting. But not quite exceptional. 3.5
2Insomnium
Since the Day It All Came Down

Not as good as I remember. Gets kinda boring/reparative, but still very well done overall. I slight step up from their debut. 3.7
3Insomnium
Above the Weeping World

Even better then I remember. Oozing with atmosphere, and some really amazing guitar work, this is still the most emotionally charged and utterly engaging of their albums. The Killjoy and Last Statement is one of the most powerful stretches of meoldeath in history. 4.7
4Insomnium
Across the Dark

Better than I remember. Still has a powerful atmosphere but the songs just aren't nearly as interesting as much of their previous work. Some really powerful moments. 3.6
5Insomnium
One for Sorrow

Kicks ass. Some people like this least why I don't understand. The most energetic of their releases, it sacrifices a bit of atmosphere and fluidity (though it still has a good deal of both) for some really exciting individual songwriting. Lay the Ghost to Rest is just amazing. 4.3
6Insomnium
Shadows of the Dying Sun

Better than I remember. The improvements and changes to the overall album structuring are subtle but they're there. They risk getting boring again to bring back some of the atmosphere they lost on their previous offering and it works. Mostly. Out to the Sea is their best closer. 3.9
