06.02.15 | some very good choices here! A good ending has to hold some sort of surprising power, something the audience might anticipate but can't call out. I mean, who could have predicted the 2001 ending? I don't think that's the case with Amélie though, everything really leads up to an over-the-top happy ending and then it...just happens.

06.02.15 | love to see lost in translation on 1 man |

06.02.15 | Memento and even though the film is a tad cliche, I loved the ending to the film Warrior.. Mostly good picks here, I love the endings to Oldboy, Blade Runner and The Others, a few others I might include are Insomnia, The Prestige (Both by Christopher Nolan, just love his twist endings) As well as One Hour Photo, Good Will Hunting, The Green Mile, Predestination and Seven |

06.04.15 | the ending of The Departed feels so forced it hurts. It's nothing more than an unmotivated compromise with the requirements of mainstream audiences. |

06.04.15 | "How did you work that out? It ends just as well as Infernal Affairs."
SPOILERS (for both The Departed and Infernal Affairs)
The Departed ends with one thing that never happened in the original movie. Matt Damon's character gets shot by Mark Wahlberg, which to me seemed incoherent and totally out of the blue. I reckon it's mostly to satisfy the people who wouldn't want the bad guy to get away with it. In "Infernal Affairs", on the other hand, the gangster Lau survives and gets away with all his crimes, but is destined to live on with regret. According to the Buddhist saying that concludes the film, this is a punishment far worse than death. That is the point of the whole movie, and The Departed got it all wrong. |
WilsonTik
06.04.15 | Internal Affairs ended on a more downbeat note which really fit the film . |
NorwichScene
06.04.15 | Ex Machina |
DrGonzo1937
06.04.15 | @Rikroach
It's still not a bad ending and it flows just as well as IA. I could come out with reason why and how Wahlberg managed to kill him, but tbh I can't be arsed. Both rule in their own ways. |
DrGonzo1937
06.04.15 | 2 and 3 weren't as good, agreed. |

06.04.15 | Inception's ending is amazing and 2001's ending is amazing visually but it's kind of like, 'then some weird shit happened, the end' |

06.04.15 | If I get to know someone, I'll normally ask that person: "Hey, how did you like the 2001 ending?". If he/she likes it, we're instant friends. If he/she doesn't, I punch him/her in the face/abdomen. |

06.10.15 | "Any Kubrick is flawless tbh."
I love Kubrick as well, but "how did they ever make a movie out of Lolita?" Probably his weakest, but still great nonetheless. There's no way to adopt the novel faithfully. |
DrGonzo1937
06.10.15 | I quite enjoyed Lolita, I'd take it over Barry Lyndon tbh. |
