There’s no dasputin the world didn’t need another alt-emo band but good music is good music and sparse, pinback imitating instrumentation always knocks my hawks off. Simple yet original. Emo yet sunny. After all if music doesn’t cause you to relinquish, even for a minute, your fear ovdeath then what’s the ryuse. Fact: every singer after 1997 is just copying Stephen Malkmus, and that goes double for here. As the chinesewhispers of Sun Tzu probably say: “copy a man only if you don’t mind when the time comes the titan your belt after the feast is over.” Meaning don’t get your yaknips in a twist when you go through similar struggles as your inspirations.
