Fucking Epic Songs

I'm on some sort of massive Folk Metal binge, can't stop listening to it for the life of me. Some seriously epic songs from seriously epic bands.
1Ensiferum
Ensiferum

"Windrider" --- The chorus is absolutely insane, you can't get more epic than that guitar riff and Jari's vocals, not to mention the symphonics in the background. Absolutely awesome.
2Wyrd
Heathen

"Heathen" --- A 51 minute folk black metal track which is nothing short of masterful. The guitars are dark but strangely uplifting, not hindered by the shitty production. The vocals are one of the real highlights, with top-notch growls and epic clean vocals.
3Ulver
Kveldssanger

"Utreise" --- Simply the best acoustic guitar riff ever written, this song is the pinnacle of beauty through music. Indescribable.
4Swallow The Sun
Hope

"Hope" --- I know, I know, doom metal isn't epic, right? Wrong. The title track of Swallow The Sun's latest album is nothing short of genius. A slow progression through building riffs and pounding drums, the song builds and builds before the floodgates open and the music is unleashed. Easily my favorite track by this band, and insanely epic in its own right.
5SIG:AR:TYR
Sailing The Seas Of Fate

"Skuld" --- What do you expect after an 8 track instrumental journey through folk metal? An equally interesting journey, but this time with downright awesome vocals. Being the last song on the album, it catches you off guard (in a good way). The riffing is very viking-esque and epic in nature. But you would already be prepared for that by listening to the first 8 songs. The vocals, however, are another animal.
6Katatonia
Dance Of December Souls

"Velvet Thorns (Of Drynwhyl)" --- Wait, another doom metal track? Indeed. In their finest hour, Katatonia deliver what may be their best song with Velvet Thorns (Of Drynwhyl), a 14 minute overture of really depressive doom. This song is slow, intense, but rewarding, only adding on to the sheer genius which is Katatonia's "Dance Of December Souls"
7Estatic Fear
A Sombre Dance

"Chapter I" --- Oh wow. Unexpected. Yeah, this song from a band which few had heard of, from an album which nobody really remembers, lands the final spot on this list. Why though? Quite simple, because it delivers all that an epic song needs, overly grandiose female vocals, harsh screaming in the vein of Mirrorthrone, and one mind-blowing, ear-catching riff which makes the song a single entity and lands itself here on this list.
