12.26.14 | Looking for something that sounds "spacey", for lack of a better term, within this genre. Like Solar Fields, only with vocals. |

12.26.14 | 1) it's not "electronica", don't do it again or the mod Deviant. will ban you to soothe his flaring asshole disease
2) do it again to make him mad

12.26.14 | what's an electronica |
Royl123
12.26.14 | Aphex Twin is the answer... |
ChoccyPhilly
12.26.14 | You pick some day to ask for recs. Also.
Aphex twin - Windowlicker
Radiohead - Kid A
Lapalux - Nostalchic

12.26.14 | If you're really about that life you should check out "Touched 2"
it's a 255-song compilation from some of the bigger and more established names along with a bunch of up-and-comers you most likely never heard about. It also kinda runs the gamut in terms of styles.
µ-Ziq, Autechre, Plaid, Ceephax, Luke Vibert, Ochre, Higher Intelligence Agency, Frog Pocket, Jodey Kendrick, The Future Sound of London, Ulrich Schnauss, and hundreds of other people you probably never heard of.
http://touched.bandcamp.com/album/touched-two
the whole thing is like $18 (And yeah they got that flac)yet you still get the high of stealing music as you can rest assured that not a cent of your money will go toward any of the people who were kind enough to provide their music to the project free-of-charge. It all goes to some anti-cancer charity thing.
Definitely quantity over quality (I've erased a couple tracks here and there) but pretty fucking cool and classy at the same time. Might put you on to some shit you never knew existed. /rant. |
TychoBrahe
12.26.14 | Oh and Merry X-Mas too, brah. Can't forget that. |
CrackeTheSkull
12.26.14 | Thanks for the Electronic-a recs (With an emphasis on the a at the end) |
Slozio
12.26.14 | If you're enjoying A23, definietly listen to VNV Nation. They are in the same vein as A23, and they are absolutely groundbreaking to say the least. I'd say listen to "Empires" first to be honest; the album is probably their rawest |
CrackeTheSkull
12.26.14 | I've heard that it's pronounced ElectronicAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH, and anyone who disagrees with this notion is incorrect. |
CrackeTheSkull
12.26.14 | Kid A is the only one mentioned in here that I've heard. I'll check out Aphex Twin first |
TychoBrahe
12.26.14 | yup, the a is violent. |

12.26.14 | Amazed no one has mentioned Flying Lotus yet. Check out the man's latest release bro |
TychoBrahe
12.26.14 | Yeah, Fly-lo is cool. Pretty sure everyone already knows who he is though given that he was awarded sputnik's 2014 AOTY. |
CrackeTheSkull
12.26.14 | Merry Christmas to all, and as for the Jews Happy HanukkElectronica |
ChoccyPhilly
12.26.14 | @tycho well the man said he wants something "spacey" and knows nothing about the genre, so You're Dead! or Cosmogramma should do the trick |
jagride
12.26.14 | bob desper |
Supercoolguy64
12.26.14 | been digging "Don't Sweat the Technics" by Kid606 lately, but it's really weird and noisy, so it might not be a great electronica starter album for most people |
Cygnatti
12.26.14 | Electronica does not exit tbh |

BeneaththeDarkOcean
12.26.14 | If you want an electronic Nine Inch Nails album, start with Pretty Hate Machine, then work your way through the rest of Trent's discog. Totally worth the journey. Otherwise:
Gazelle Twin - Unflesh
Jean Michel Jarre - Oxygene
Justice - Cross (album cover is a cross in space!)
Radiohead - Amnesiac (in addition to Kid A)
Kraftwerk - Trans Europe Express
Bjork - Homogenic
Submotion Orchestra - Alium
Zero 7 - Simple Science EP
Clark - Clark |
