07.18.14 | Ever single Frank Zappa album is an awesome guitar album.
The Big Muff fuzz on Siamese Dream is delicious. |
Thunderkat
07.18.14 | Billy may not have a wonderful voice alone, but it fits the music quite well. |
AtlastheGreat
07.18.14 | I listened to Frank Zappa for the very first time last night (shut up and play your guitar), and I think my brain melted a little bit, it was awesome! And yes, the big muff is awesome, my favorite pedal in my meager collection :) |
Frownland
07.18.14 | Good list, props for 1. Check Big Black and Converge |
AtlastheGreat
07.18.14 | @Thunderkat - Billy's voice really ranges from fitting to absolutely horrible (particularly on the metal side of Mellon Collie), but that tone is just so darn awesome |

07.18.14 | How do the lyrics suck on Siamese Dream? |
AtlastheGreat
07.18.14 | @Frownland - Song about f****** is pretty intense, even more than Black Flag (I always get the two confused). Gonna check out converge asap :) |

07.18.14 | @JaySpiral - LIFES A BUMMER WHEN UR A HUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MAH BELLY STINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The lyrics go good with the songs, but they are just kinda juvenile in my humble opinion (that is to say the opinion of a teenage white dude, so yeah) |
JaySpiral
07.18.14 | But the majority of the album isn't like that. Cherub Rock, Today, Mayonnaise all have great lyrics, just off the top of my head. It's just strange to me that you would point out the bad lyrics on that album, because to me it's not the an album that comes to mind when I think of albums with bad lyrics. |
AtlastheGreat
07.18.14 | I dunno, even those songs make me cringe (lyrically that is) at times. And its not I AM THE TABLE-esque quality or even Mellon Collie levels, just not my favorite lyrics of all time. And honestly, the songs are great enough that the lyrics don't really hamper the experience for me, I'll gladly yell that my life is indeed a bummer when you're a hummer when I blaring that song in my car :) Just a difference of preference in the end, you do you my friend :D |
Artuma
07.18.14 | dude you made sputnik history right here. i don't think anyone else has even thought of putting 3 and 4 on the same list |

07.18.14 | King Crimson "Starless and Bible Black" is an essential guitar album because of what happens at the end |

07.18.14 | Thanks for the positive feedback, you guys are awesome!!!!!!
@lz41 - ISN'T IT THOUGH???? One of my favs
@Danielcardoso - I admire Van Halen more than I enjoy listening to them. Still, some pretty sick guitar playing
@NightProwler - Check it out, man, its really insane and chaotic, but still very cool :)
@Skull917 - Glenn Branca is love, Glenn Branca is life, and MC5 is dope. Gonna check out everything else asap
@Karmacost029 - Heartbreaker and Whole Lotta Love are pretty much awesome, but I feel like IV is just more epic (I mean, When the Levee Breaks just slays). Just my opinion, keep rockin' on :)
@Beefshoes - Never been huge into metal (Dreamhouse is the first metal album that I legitimately love), but imma check out those classics :)
@Stallionmang - Loveless is one of my favorite albums period. Wanted to put it on, but chose sunbather just because its newer. Need to check out those other ones
@Jefflebowski - I've listened to them a little, gonna go and seriously check em out today hopefully :D |
