| Underrated On The Site Part 1
Gonna take a look at 5 bands I feel are underrated, not much else to say. | | 1 |  | Merchant Ships
For Cameron
Kinsella influenced hardcore that sits perfectly on the border of emo and screamo.
They were only around for a couple of years and never managed to release a full
album, but they managed to heavily influence the genre and resulted in a plethora
of pretty good spin off bands (Park Jefferson, Midwest Pen Pals, William Bonney.
Aziz STAFF wrote a great 5/5 review for For Cameron, and damn he doesn't even

House Boat are a pop punk supergroup that make some of the catchiest music
around, and have some of the best lyrics in the scene. House Boat fucking rule I

I Do Perceive
Owen is a weird one to consider underrated, but here me out. Yes his work has
received countless 5/5 staff reviews, and his two best albums have 4.1 averages,
but I still feel like that isn't enough. His most popular album on the site has 253
ratings which is criminal. Mike Kinsella is simply put a guitar virtuoso. He
singlehandedly created a style of guitar that spawned an entire genre of imitators.
His use of unique tunings allows for incredibly original and captivating guitar work.
Seeing him live blew my mind, as he had to spend minutes in between every single
song tuning his guitar to the unique tuning ever song is in. His vivid and depressing
lyrics coupled with his breathtaking songwriting result in some of the most

Plague Soundscapes
Pigeonholing The Locust into a single genre is not an easy task. Mixing elements of
powerviolence, gridncore, hardcore punk, and industrial makes things difficult, but
there unique use of analog keyboards makes defining them into a genre
impossible. The Locust are a punk band, a chaotic punk band that makes music
that is abrasive as fuck, but somehow highly listenable and catchy. Their use of
three vocalists always captivates me, whether it's there shout whenever or all at
once approach of their early records, or New Erections, where each member
dominates a single track, the vocals are always entertaining. None of that even
matters when you get to Gabe Serbian, my personal favorite drummer. The fact
that he was the band's guitarist, and start playing drums for the first time when
their drummer quit always astounds me, he sounds like someone who has been
