2014 Ranked Thus Far

Time for a list as I have yet to make one. This is my reviews for 2014 at this point in time. Will pump out more reviews and ratings soon when work settles down a bit. Thanks for reading and comments are always appreciated.
1Black Monolith
Passenger

The most musically diverse metal record I have listened to this year and I cannot stop listening.
2nic/Old Soul
Split

Loud, aggressive, beautiful, and thrilling on both sides. Everything a music fan can ask for from a split.
3IDYLLS
PRAYER FOR TERRENE

Nasty, aggressive, and abrasive punk rock at it's finest.
4Have a Nice Life
The Unnatural World

Incredibly creepy from beginning to end with some nice punk rock and ambient roots to boot.
5Wreck and Reference
Want

Slight improvement over their already solid artistry. Excited to see where they grow from this point.
6Planning for Burial
Desideratum

Most depressing album of the year thus far, but also one of the best. Drone is really starting to grow on me.
7White Suns
Totem

Terrifying in every sense of the word. Feels as if you are being chased through an old warehouse by a murderer.
8St. Vincent
St. Vincent

Solid effort from St. Vincent that oozes originality even if some of the songs are a bit disappointing.
9Ingrid Michaelson
Lights Out

Folk and Indie's most endearing soul comes back with her best work yet, but still a bit too soft for it's own good.
10Chevelle
La Gargola

Chevelle's finest material since Wonder What's Next. Hopefully this heavier direction becomes a trend.
11Body Count
Manslaughter

Goofy, funny, commanding, and fun. Everything Body Count fans have been waiting for.
12Cloud Nothings
Here and Nowhere Else

A bit of a disappointment from their previous full-length, but still a solid punk and lo-fi album.
13The Roots
...and then you shoot your cousin

Not the finest work from The Roots but still a decent album with four more strong songs to add to their discography
14Memphis May Fire
Unconditional

Solid metalcore but definitely could be a lot better. Too cheesy and simple to mean anything.
15Crosses
Crosses

Chino Moreno always brings clout to his side projects and there are a lot of solid tracks here, but there is too many songs and similar threads throughout.
16Trash Talk
No Peace

A good introduction to hardcore music, but the song length is pathetic and too many wasted tracks throughout. Cloud Kicker still kicks ass though.
17Pharrel
G I R L

Worst album I have listened to this year. Happy is a great single and Hunter is goofy fun, but the rest of the tracks try too hard and display Pharrel's limits vocally.
