His son Jeff is well known for being basically a musical genius. However his father

A virtually unknown British art-rock/post-punkish band. |

A female fronted U.K punk band that did not make it over to the states. |
| 9 | Whiskeytown
Ryan Adams somewhat got the coverage he deserved yet his band did not. Before
the singer-songwriter genius Adams was known, this was his band. |

One of the great America punk bands that were not given the props they so well
deserved. They have sort of an art-rock sound. |
| 7 | Jackson C. Frank
Another over-looked 1960's folk singer. |
| 6 | Texas is the Reason
They are one of the pioneers of the emo genre yet are not one of the first bands
that come to mind when mentioning the word emo. |
| 5 | The Gun Club
This is a wonderful L.A. based punk-band who got some media attention but far
less than deserved. The singer has since dies and left a wonderful collection of
songs behind |
| 4 | Phil Ochs
He was around at the same time as Bob Dylan at his prime. His lyrics were a bit
darker and more topical than Dylan. Unlike Dylan he would make little compromises
and the music press took little notice. Plus he had better vocal ability and range
than Dylan. |
| 3 | Manic Street Preachers
While they made it sort of big in the U.K. and Europe, they could never properly
break into the states. It's sad because the soulful vocals and deep lyrics should be
in more Americans music collections. |

While he is known, he should be a house-hold name. His talent has brilliant. |
