Riff Hardness Scale

So here's a 100% accurate scale that details the hardness of riffs and assigns them a number from 1-10. I got the idea from the mohs scale which ranks minerals or something and figured the idea was applicable to riffs. Enjoy.

My Damnation

Mesophase riffs, the intermediate between solid and liquid. It's physically impossible
to make a riff softer than every riff on this entire album.
2Metallica
Reload

Riffs so soft you could dig a spoon into them like a souffle.
3In Flames
A Sense of Purpose

These riffs won't fall apart under their own weight but are still really flimsy, like a
balsa wood remote control plane or something.
4Deftones
Diamond Eyes

We're almost at the middle of the scale now, these riffs are sorta like rounded
pebbles on the ground they aren't gonna hurt you unless someone pegs them at
you real hard but even then they won't frighten anyone bar the the biggest
fuccbois like Snoxall
5Amon Amarth
Deceiver of the Gods

There really isn't a more appropriate album to represent to represent the middle of
the riff hardness scale than Amon Amarth's album from last year. These riffs are
nothing to be scoffed at but it ain't difficult to find harder ones.
6Slayer
South of Heaven

Above average hardness riffs. Will hold their own against the majority of riffs but
still crumble against some of the harder material the world of riffs have to offer.
7Bolt Thrower
Those Once Loyal

Reinforced steel riffs of bloodshed come in at 7 on the riff hardness scale. Suitable
for crafting weapons of war against riffs deemed not worthy.
8Entombed
Left Hand Path

Riffs so hard they could only have been formed under the surface of the earth in a
magma chamber under pressure so intense it would crush lesser riffs into a pulp.
9Megadeth
Rust in Peace

Everyone knows the leads on this album are among the hardest leads ever, but the
riffs are even harder. I hear a lot of hyperbole about how hard these riffs are, but
then I realise it's not even hyperbole but scientific fact.
10Atheist
Piece of Time

On the mohs scale, 10 represents diamond aka. the hardest natural substance
known to man. Piece of Time (and Unquestionable Presence) is the riff equivalent of
diamonds, so hard they cut through anything and everything.
11Bathory
Blood Fire Death

The riffs on Blood Fire Death were so hard they had to invent a new level of
hardness to account for them. Every riff on this album is the hardest riff ever,
especially the riff like 2 minutes into A Fine Day to Die which is even harder than
the other riffs. I heard that neutron stars are so dense that one the size of
Manhattan would weigh 3 times what the Sun does. Imagine how hard that stuff is,
multiply it by about 3000 and you'll have an idea how hard these riffs are.
