| My Top 15 Led Zeppelin Songs
So many classics are missing here, but who cares about "classic" status ranyway? "Kashmir" and rrrr"Stairway to Heaven" and "Whole Lotta Love" and r"Achilles Last Stand" are all amazing, but I rrrrprefer these 15 to all others. rOther than the stuff on Coda, all Led Zeppelin songs are great rrrranyway. I rcan't think of a single bad one. Shhhhhh about ITTOD please...it's great. | 15 | | Led Zeppelin Physical Graffiti
"Custard Pie" The guitar line is catchy, the keyboards are deep and cool. One of the
best openers ever. | 14 | | Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin
"Communication Breakdown" It was hard choosing which song from LZ I to pick, but
this one ended up winning. Cool guitar line. Strong vocals. "You Shook Me" is up
there as well. | 13 | | Led Zeppelin Physical Graffiti
"Ten Years Gone" One of the most heartfelt songs they have. It has an amazing build
up and solo. This one is loved my most LZ fans anyway. | 12 | | Led Zeppelin In Through the Out Door
"Carouselambra" before I came to sputnik I had no idea so many people hated this
song. I always thought it was amazing. Especially the ending. Seriously those synths
are sweet. So what if its far from metal? Who cares? | 11 | | Led Zeppelin Presence
"Hot on for Nowhere" Sexy, dragged out, fun. It's just fun to sing along to if you know
the lyrics. A SHIVER RUNS DOWN MY BAAAAACKBONE. | 10 | | Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin II
"What Is and What Should Never Be" Sadly, it's the only LZ song from LZ II I put on
here, but damn does it deserve it. Awesome chorus, and gutiar line, and of course
Bonham's drums, but that's just a given. | 9 | | Led Zeppelin Houses of the Holy
"Over the Hills and Far Away" The first part of the song is pleasant, and then the
second part is awesome. They mesh to well together, plus this is the LotR's themed at
its best. | 8 | | Led Zeppelin Physical Graffiti
"Houses of the Holy" One of the best riffs these guys have. The lyrics are so
memorable as well. Enough said. | 7 | | Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin IV
"When the Levee Breaks" You can tell me "Kashmir" is their best long epic, but songs
like this one beat it. The stress and desperation this song brings makes it such a
classic blues track. Bonham's drums are so cool in it too. And that harmonica. | 6 | | Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin IV
"Misty Mountain Hop" The weird pattern of the singing in this song is pretty haunting.
Plus the story's cool and all the instruments are just classic Zeppelin. Plus that bass. | 5 | | Led Zeppelin Physical Graffiti
"In My Time of Dying" Led Zeppelin's longest song is definitely one of their best. The
mere existence of this song overshadows "Kashmir" which only comes a few tracks
later. Distress, guitar solos, blues, great drums, power, everything someone would
want in a LZ song, also it ends in "cough" which is hilarious. | 4 | | Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin III
"Bron-Y-Aur Stomp" Other than Coda, I always felt this was their weakest album. With
that said, this song is acoustic perfection. It's just so catchy and that clapping. His
shouts are perfect as well. | 3 | | Led Zeppelin Physical Graffiti
"The Wanton Song" This was my favorite for a long time. The riff is just wow. Those
drums may just be Bonham's best, and Plant's vocals are so sexy. Plus that underwater
feel to the guitar solo is just so enticing. | 2 | | Led Zeppelin Houses of the Holy
"The Crunge" Don't hate me for this one, but the weirdness and humor of this song
literally makes it the most fun LZ song out there. The mellotron makes the song
awesome. AND THERE'S NO MUSICAL BRIDGE SO THEY MAKE A HUGE JOKE OUT OF IT! :D I
honestly wish they got silly more often. | 1 | | Led Zeppelin Presence
Now for the random-est choice ever for 1: "FOR YOUR LIFE" This is probably their
sexiest song ever. Seriously this is music to fuck to probably. Page's guitar fits the
mood perfectly and Bonham's drums are really cool here. DO IT DO IT WHEN YOU
WANNA. It's about cocaine also... though that's not necessarily a bonus. | |

04.18.14 | Can't wait for you all to disagree. ;) | mandan
04.18.14 | Interesting list. Mine would've been quite different, but 7 is one of my faves so it's all good. | TheRealVermicide9013
04.18.14 | 5 is 1 | ArsMoriendi
04.18.14 | @TheRealVermicide9013: Fair enough. It is amazing. | BMDrummer
04.18.14 | Interesting list, although No Quarter is probably 1 for me. | mandan
04.18.14 | I might do a similar list, after I rank their original 8. | OZZGabriel
04.18.14 | But...what about Stairway to Heaven? | ArsMoriendi
04.18.14 | @dannyboy89: Let me guess. Phys Graff is your 1, Presence is your 7, and In Through the Out Door is your 8. | mandan
04.18.14 | @Ars: II & PG are tied for me, otherwise you're correct. | ArsMoriendi
04.18.14 | Presence is 2 for me though. Especially since it has Led Zeppelin's best song on it. | BMDrummer
04.18.14 | Presence is awesome, but I can see why it's underrated. | Rowan5215
04.18.14 | 1. Moby Dick
2. rest | mandan
04.18.14 | Nice pick Rowan, Moby Dick's one of my faves as well. | scottpilgrim10
04.18.14 | Cool list, the descriptions are a nice touch too. I'm also going to write a ranked list for LZ's discography in the near future.
the beginning of Lose Yourself by Eminem sounds similar to Kashmir IMO. Does anyone else think that? | OZZGabriel
04.18.14 | I wanted earlier today to make some kind of Zeppelin or Sababth top but seeing this one I think mine would be really generic. | elcrawfodor
04.19.14 | I agree that The Crunge is underrated, but damn that's high. Ten Years Gone is my 1 for sure, and where's The Rover and The Rain Song? | dh198
04.19.14 | Interesting list. I do think The Crunge is probably the band's weakest song outside of Coda, but it's Led Zeppelin, you can't go wrong with their music. For Your Life isn't one of my all-time favorites, but it's definitely overlooked. | ArsMoriendi
04.19.14 | I guess you guys don't like your Led Zeppelin silly.
@elcrawfodor: "The Rover" isn't even close to one of my favorites, sorry. "The Rain Song" is definitely up there though, maybe top 30. Also "For Your Life" is incredibly overlooked. | Killerhit
04.19.14 | not bad | mandan
04.19.14 | "rOther than the stuff on Coda, all Led Zeppelin songs are great rrrranyway. I rcan't think of a single bad one."
Bar LZII and PG, every album in the rest of their first 6 had one subpar track imo.
My faves on LZIII are prob Out on the Tiles, Since I've Been Loving You and Inmigrant Song. | ArsMoriendi
04.19.14 | @dannyboy89:The fact that most people would pick "The Crunge" as a weak point still confounds me. Also how is anything on Presence even close to weak? | mandan
04.19.14 | Note that I didn't mention Presence. Dancing Days is weakest on Houses imo. I has Your Time is Gonna Come, and III has the annoying Hats off to Roy Harper. | ArsMoriendi
04.19.14 | "Dancing Days" is pretty great in my opinion. "Your Time Is Gonna Come" may not be a stand out, but its far from bad. Hats Off is charming because it's an ode to a great guy in an old bluesy style.
What about IV? Please don't say "Four Sticks" ... In my opinion "Stairway to Heaven" is the weakest actually on that album. | elcrawfodor
04.19.14 | For Your Life is aight, I prefer Achilles and Nobody's Fault But Mine (dat harmonica) off of Presence. My list would be pretty different, but I still love most of your picks. Says something about Zeppelin's discography. | elcrawfodor
04.19.14 | Four Sticks is my least fav off of IV, but it's still great | mandan
04.19.14 | @Ars: I can see why someone would dislike Stairway, but yeah, Four Sticks would be the weak link in IV in my opinion. You made an interesting defense though, kudos man. | ArsMoriendi
04.19.14 | Even my least favorites (outside of Coda) still make me happy if I haven't heard them in a while. Post-Help! Beatles (except for the shitty Birthday) have the same effect on me. |
