Favorite Bands: Past & Present
Some of my favorite bands over the years. Beware, there are a lot of rhorrible bands on this list. |
1 | | Prior To Highschool 6-8 grade
For clarification's sake, I'm currently in 11th grade |
2 | | Disturbed Ten Thousand Fists
6th grade favorite. Saw them live in 6th grade. Stopped liking them for the most
part around 7th grade, but I still like some of their stuff. |
3 | | Slipknot Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)
I saw them live in 6th grade, event though I didn't like them much at the time.
Once 7th grade came around, I adored them. Fell out of them in 9th grade, but I
still enjoy some of their stuff. |
4 | | Hawthorne Heights If Only You Were Lonely
Got into these guys, along with a heap of other bands midway through 7th grade
year and the summer going into 8th grade. This is when I started liking "screamed"
vocals more. I was also extremely depressed at this time and I found that this sort
of music helped me. |
5 | | Silverstein Discovering The Waterfront
This was my favorite band from midway into 7th grade year until about 10th grade,
actually. I still really enjoy most of their stuff. |
6 | | Senses Fail Let It Enfold You
Was one of my favorite from midway into 7th grade until about 9th grade. Still
really enjoy this album. Their most recent album was also really good. |
7 | | Insane Clown Posse The Amazing Jeckel Brothers
Around this same time, I started loving ICP. I honestly still enjoy a lot of their
material, but would never consider them a favorite band anymore. |
8 | | Iron Maiden The Number Of The Beast
I should have included this earlier. This band has been a favorite of mine practically
my entire life. My dad showed me them when I was very young. Still one of my
favorites. |
9 | | Underoath They're Only Chasing Safety
Still love these guys, but nowhere near as much as I did from 7th-10th grade.
Would now consider them more of a guilty pleasure favorite. |
10 | | Simple Plan No Pads, No Helmets... Just Balls
Around this time I also loved this shit heap of a band. I often found myself singing
along with Perfect, I'd Do Anything, etc. |
11 | | The Almost Southern Weather
Loved this band purely because of Aaron Gillespie |
12 | | The Black Dahlia Murder Nocturnal
I was an avid Rock Band player from 6th-8th grade. I downloaded this song the
summer going into my 8th grade year so that I had a hard song to play. I hated it
at first, but I played it constantly trying to get good at it. Eventually, I fell in love
with the band. I still enjoy them a lot. |
13 | | Bullet For My Valentine The Poison
Oh, and of course, I loved this band as well during this time. |
14 | | Yellowcard Ocean Avenue
I completely adored this band, still love them, not nearly as much, though. |
15 | | Eminem The Marshall Mathers LP
Eminem was really the only rapper I liked a lot, aside from 2pac, until fairly recently.
I listened to him and 2pac all the time. Still a favorite. |
16 | | 2pac All Eyez On Me
As stated above, this was the only other rapper I liked a lot. Still a favorite. |
17 | | In Flames A Sense Of Purpose
While I was falling in love with scene-esque post-hardcore bands, I also fell in love
with this band. Yes, I know, this is deemed as one of their worse albums, but I
loved it. Now my favorite of theirs is probably Whoracle. |
18 | | All Time Low So Wrong, It's Right
Had my first taste of this band the summer going into my 7th grade year from Rock
Band with the song Weightless. Never listened to them again until my 8th grade
year kicked off, and they became a favorite. I still really, really like these guys, for
the most part. |
19 | | Alesana The Emptiness
Found these guys in 8th grade. They fit my fagginess at the time. I still spin some
of their stuff occasionally. |
20 | | Asking Alexandria Stand Up And Scream
Yes, I even loved this band my 8th grade year. I was that kid. |
21 | | Forever The Sickest Kids Underdog Alma Mater
They were my number one favorite majority of 8th grade year. No idea why I liked
them so much. |
22 | | The Devil Wears Prada With Roots Above And Branches Below
Obligatory scene kid band I loved. I now mostly enjoy their Zombie EP. |
23 | | Trivium Ascendancy
Still really enjoy this album, but I was absolutely obsessed with it back then. |
24 | | A Day To Remember Homesick
Another obligatory favorite, considering my taste at the time. Loved them until
midway through my 10th grade year. |
25 | | Crossfade Crossfade
Somewhere along the line, this band became a favorite. Don't ask me how. I have
no idea. But they were my favorite band the summer going into my 9th grade year. |
26 | | I Set My Friends On Fire You Can't Spell Slaughter Without Laughter
My best friend at the time and I loved this band together. My favorite song off this
album was Things That Rhyme With Orange, I still love that song, but nothing else
on this album. She, on the other hand, despises this band completely now. lol |
27 | | The Beatles A Hard Day's Night
That same friend got me into The Beatles that summer. I never liked a particular
album, just had a bunch of random songs from numerous albums. I honestly don't
like these guys much anymore, but I listen occasionally. |
28 | | As I Lay Dying Shadows Are Security
Had known this band for a couple years, but never listened to them much until just
before my freshman year. They stayed as a favorite until sometime during my 10th
grade year. Still enjoy them. |
29 | | Amon Amarth Twilight Of The Thunder God
Back tracking a bit (sorry) near the end of 8th grade, I started falling in love with
melodic death metal. I still love this band, along with the next two. |
30 | | Dark Tranquillity Fiction
Same as above. |
31 | | Children Of Bodom Follow The Reaper
Same as above. |
32 | | 9th grade Album
Still liked most of the same stuff. |
33 | | I See Stars Digital Renegade
A friend of mine showed me this album, I fell in love. Still listen occasionally. I
bought their most recent album when it came out. |
34 | | I Fight Dragons Cool Is Just A Number
Don't remember how I found these guys, but I was obsessed with this EP most of
my 9th grade year. |
35 | | Chelsea Grin Desolation of Eden
Of course, to compliment my mostly shitty musical taste, deathcore! Loved them
until my 10th grade year. Now they really irritate me. |
36 | | New Found Glory New Found Glory
Discovered these guys around this time. One of my teachers, who's honestly more
a friend, recommended them to me. We bonded in our love for them for a while. |
37 | | 10th Grade Album
A lot of my favorites were still the same, but around the middle of this year, my
taste started evolving. |
38 | | Deftones Diamond Eyes
Now, don't get me wrong, I always liked these guys, but I never listened to them
consistently until this year. And that's when they became a favorite. |
39 | | Opeth Morningrise
Checked these guys out after joining this site about midway into my 10th grade
year. Needless to say, I loved it. |
40 | | 11th grade (Present)
My taste has been evolving rapidly since about last June. |
41 | | Rancid ...And Out Come The Wolves
I absolutely hated punk until this year. Now it houses some of my favorite artists |
42 | | Streetlight Manifesto Everything Goes Numb
One of my teachers and I bond over our love of this band. (And no, not the same
teacher that showed me New Found Glory) |
43 | | The Bouncing Souls How I Spent My Summer Vacation |
44 | | Brand New The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me
Checked out this album because of all the praise I seen on this site. After a couple
listens, became one of my favorite albums. |
45 | | Slayer Seasons In The Abyss
My love for thrash blossomed this year. Hated it prior to about half a year ago. |
46 | | Death Symbolic
Basically the same case as Brand New. |
47 | | Defeater Empty Days and Sleepless Nights
Had known of this band for a while, but I always hated the vocals. Now I really
enjoy them and consider them a favorite. |
48 | | The Story So Far What You Don't See
I got this CD September of this year. I loved it immensely. Still do. I got my
girlfriend at the time to love these guys as well. And, yes, I'm in the minority that
prefers this album to Under Soil And Dirt. I also fell in love with The Wonder Years
around this time. |
49 | | OutKast Aquemini
My love for hip-hop blossomed rather recently, only a couple months ago. |
50 | | Kendrick Lamar good kid, m.A.A.d city
Same as above. |
