4 isn't technically a sophmore effort. Most people consider Broken along the same lines as Pretty Hate Machine and The Downward Spiral.
The second I read the list name O' God the Aftermath came to mind.

1 is good, 3 is great, haven't heard 4 or any NIN for that matter outside of singles and YZ and 7 is amazing. I would add Origin of Symmetry, Toxicity, Frances the Mute, Fortress and In the Aeroplane Over the Sea.
