Albums That Changed How I Think Of Music (Pt. 1?)
Albums that changed my views on what music is/could be/should be/tries to be/whatever. There's rnot a super-well defined order going on here. |
10 | | Meshuggah Nothing
Does this need an explanation? |
9 | | Opeth Blackwater Park
Because Opeth. This was my first really introduction to more extreme metal, but
the proggyness of this album kept me engaged and took the artistry to a new level. |
8 | | Cloudkicker Beacons
Some of the ambient takes on Meshuggah-styled rhythms are done with calculator
precision and waving flow. |
7 | | Converge Jane Doe
Like getting your teeth drilled out with a sledgehammer by an epileptic meth addict. |
6 | | Isis Celestial
Dark post-rock-esque atmosphere with an overarching plot and unusual structures.
What's not to like? |
5 | | Mike Oldfield Tubular Bells
I recently listened through this a couple times. It's probably one of the most odd,
disjunct, yet organized things I've ever listened to. |
4 | | Zebrahead MFZB
This is a choice probably liable to get me shit, but hell, it's a fun record. For all the
rap/rock/nu-metal acts who tried to incorporate hiphop styles in rock, I think
Zebrahead does it best. This album got me into loads of new music, and I still listen
to it every once in a while when I need a few carefree, happy songs. |
3 | | Nine Inch Nails The Downward Spiral
I still think this album has a good argument behind it for being one of the heaviest
albums ever written. This record is pure hate and decay, and it just really resonated
with me the first tine I heard it and I was in a dark place. |
2 | | Massive Attack Mezzanine
Just very unusual in the hip-hop world, at least to me. The diverse infuences of this
album intrigue me. |
1 | | Venetian Snares Rossz Csillag Allat Szuletett
This album is pretty weird. Bloops and Bleeps, now with strings for added pleasure! |
