Killerhit
04.24.13 | I dont think anybodys forgiven you for your overrated classics list
you piece of shit go burn |
mandan
04.24.13 | Bottom line: you consider almost everything after BIB to be crud. Interesting. |
zxlkho
04.24.13 | Real ratings:
all albums - 2.5/5 |
ReturnToRock
04.24.13 | Almost being the key word. Flick and Razor's Edge are pretty solid. |
ReturnToRock
04.24.13 | zxlkho: that could actually be argued were it not for Highway To Hell, High Voltage and maybe Let There Be Rock. These ratings are from a self-confessed fanboy. |
pissbore
04.24.13 | u fuckin kidding puttin powerage 8 |
ReturnToRock
04.24.13 | Powerage is the most "meh...OK I guess" album of theirs along with Dirty Deeds. There's no standouts or low points. Hence a 3. |
DominionMM1
04.24.13 | u fuckin kidding puttin powerage 8 [2]
|
ReturnToRock
04.24.13 | See above. I know my ranking of their discog is far from consensual, especially with regards to where I put Flick of the Switch and Back In Black. |
DominionMM1
04.24.13 | don't give a fuck about ranking any brian johnson-era ac/dc because its all shit compared to their 70's output |
ReturnToRock
04.24.13 | IDK man, like I said, Razor's is good and Flick has a few fun songs. Bon Scott era is much better, agreed. |
ReturnToRock
04.24.13 | It's ALL shit? Hell's Bells, Back In Black, You Shook Me All Night Long, Shoot To Thrill, For Those About To Rock, Thunderstruck? Not to mention lesser-known songs like Money Talks and Big Jack? |
Surtur
04.24.13 | Highway To Hell should be 1, one of the best hard rock albums ever. I agree with your Back In Black rating to an extent, it's terribly overrated album, but still good/great. |
Atari
04.24.13 | not a bad choice for number 1 i need to listen to their discog again they're a fun band |
ReturnToRock
04.24.13 | @Surtur Highway To Hell is subjectively number 1, but High Voltage is objectively better. Kind of a Bleach v Nevermind situation for me, where I subjectively prefer one but rank the other higher. |
ReturnToRock
04.24.13 | That said if I had to recommend AC/DC to a newbie I'd recommend Highway, THEN Voltage and Black. |
pissbore
04.24.13 | puttin back in black before powerage u fuckin pleb |
Surtur
04.24.13 | Yeah, Highway To Hell was my first real rock album. I haven't heard it in years, but I still know every song off by heart. Number one for nostalgic value as well subjectively for me. |
DrHouseSchuldiner
04.24.13 | : ) |
ReturnToRock
04.24.13 | Damn I forgot Jailbreak :/ That's about a 3.5/5 for me, somewhere before Dirty Deeds and after Razor's. It also has the song that made me fall in love with 'DC, Show Business. |
DominionMM1
04.24.13 | "It's ALL shit? Hell's Bells, Back In Black, You Shook Me All Night Long, Shoot To Thrill, For Those About To Rock, Thunderstruck? Not to mention lesser-known songs like Money Talks and Big Jack?"
those songs all suck, especially when compared to bon scott ac/dc. there are maybe 10 tracks from bib on that are really any good, and you didn't name a single one. |
ReturnToRock
04.24.13 | Excuse me? You Shook Me All Night Long and Thunderstruck suck?! :/ That solo on Shook *bow* |
NightProwler
04.24.13 | M fav AC/DC-studio albums probably goes like this:
Highway to Hell > Let There Be Rock > High Voltage. I need to hear 13 and 14 actually. Always been told I don't need to, although I'll have to someday. |
Atari
04.24.13 | meh 1 isn't as good as i remember actually. opening track kills though. |
DominionMM1
04.24.13 | spellbound is the best track they ever did with Brian johnson
and night prowler solo > |
ReturnToRock
04.24.13 | @Prowler: You don't need to. Blow has some 'decent-if-fanboy' tracks, but only one really good song (That's The Way I Want To Rock'n'Roll). Ballbreaker has Hard As A Rock, Hail Caesar and then nothing. So just download those three.
@Atari: Rock'n'Roll Singer? Live Wire? TNT? Title track? The Jack? Can I Sit Next To You Girl? Only weak song in my opinion is She's Got Balls, which is awful. |
ReturnToRock
04.24.13 | Hahahahaha Spellbound! Spellbound!!!!!!!!!
Are you serious bro? |
Atari
04.24.13 | idk man maybe i'm not in the AC/DC mood. i remember the jack being a lot better. |
manosg
04.24.13 | I like the fact that you're an AC/DC fan and all but I'm starting to think that you create lists and your main aim is to provoke man. No way is Back in Black 7 and Powerage 8. 3 and 5 are also very high. |
manosg
04.24.13 | Also, yesterday you said that Highway to Hell is the best AC/DC album not High Voltage. Make up your mind dude. |
NightProwler
04.24.13 | RtR: Yeah, I've seen those on live DvDs. As my username indicates, I was a real AC/DC-fanboy when I was younger, and I still love to rock out to it these days. So i have almost all their albums, downloading is out of the question (besides, they're about 7 dollars each).
Also, AC/DC played one of the greatest concerts I've ever attended. Unforgetable.
Furthermore, Spellbound is great. A little cheese, but great. And of cause, my fav AC/DC track is Night Prowler, tied with Whole Lotta Rosie |
NightProwler
04.24.13 | Damn... Edits... |
Titan
04.24.13 | 9 and 13 are the worst imo |
demigod!
04.24.13 | bon scott or bust |

04.24.13 | 7 is too low and 3 is too high imho. |
jmnewcomer18
04.24.13 | band sucks |
deslad
04.24.13 | I also think that 7 and 8 should definitely be higher man. |
ReturnToRock
04.25.13 | @manos I don't set out to provoke anyone, but I don't necessarily drink the same Kool-Aid as everybody else when it comes to music.
@Night I have all their originals too, aside from the double-CD edition of Live and Live @ River Plate. I even got Black Ice on the day it came out and got a free t-shirt with it :D |
tommygun
04.25.13 | did you get laid after |
ReturnToRock
04.25.13 | @Night also, AC/DC was THE best concert, and arguably the best night, of my entire life.
@manos see what I said above. Highway is subjectively the best AC/DC album for me, but objectively it's Voltage. |
ReturnToRock
04.25.13 | @tommy nah dude but I did get a natural high. |
tommygun
04.25.13 | after the concert |
tommygun
04.25.13 | sweet dude natural high from high volume jams is the best |
ReturnToRock
04.25.13 | Agreed! :D Got one the first time I saw Slipknot too, I was dazed and confused but oh so fucking happy. |
tommygun
04.25.13 | DAZED AND CONFUSED FOR SO LONG IT'S NOT TRUE

Ire
04.25.13 | all of these are shitty so i guess any ranking is correct |
ReturnToRock
04.25.13 | Nah man. But at least I gave it an honest try. We still hang out though, and she's still awesome. |
tommygun
04.25.13 | swee do u like dino jr |
ReturnToRock
04.25.13 | Haven't heard that much by them. I enjoyed what little I heard. |
tommygun
04.25.13 | yeah man you'd prob dig em they rock hard and solo hard |
NightProwler
04.25.13 | RtR: I owned Live on double-disc once, but lost it in a moving, I think :(
And yeah, the concert was probably the second or third best I've been to so far, but the entire day was the best of my life.
My old man surprised me with tickets the day before we left for the concert, as I hadn't been able to get my own. So we travelled about 300 miles with two of his friends, rented two motel rooms, and he paid for everything.
The entire city of Horsens was ready for the big night; cover-bands, merchandise-stands, cheap beer, and hundreds of festive people, all waiting for the night. Such a perfect day!
ahh... had to write that! |
tommygun
04.25.13 | m/ |
NightProwler
04.25.13 | m/ indeed! |
ReturnToRock
04.25.13 | m/ indeed.
My friend originally asked me to get four tix for him & his friends, but one bailed, so I had to re-sell his ticket. I ended up making a profit on it, and when my friend came down I presented him with his share. The look on his face was priceless. "What's that?" "It's your share of the profit." "Profit?" "Yeah I made a profit on the ticket. It's money, you ass! Just take it!" XD |
NightProwler
04.25.13 | Sweet! But I can't get into my head, why he'd turn down an AC/DC-concert? |
manosg
04.25.13 | @RtR
OK dude, I respect your opinion and also the fact that you created a list for a band that gets hate in here after receiving hate from your previous list. |
Funeralopolis
04.25.13 | rating anything by this band over a 3 |
ReturnToRock
04.25.13 | @Night he just got busy I think, and they lived like 3 hours away from me.
@manos thanks! I never let hate stop me from doing anything, at least not on the Internet. |
