Deeppurpleology

The albums of Deep Purple in my order of preference.
18Deep Purple
Abandon

Possibly their worst. As generic as it gets.
17Deep Purple
The House of Blue Light

Maybe this'll grow on me.
16Deep Purple
Slaves and Masters

Bland, dull release. Avoid this.
15Deep Purple
The Battle Rages On...

Not one of their best, but not as bad as some say it is. Best song: "Anya"
14Deep Purple
Rapture of the Deep

A nice album from a legendary band. DP has proven to have been the most productive of the so-called "unholy trinity" of British Hard Rock. Best song: "Money Talks"
13Deep Purple
Bananas

Entertaining release. DP have managed to age gracefully by this time. Best song: "Razzle Dazzle"
12Deep Purple
Shades of Deep Purple

No masterpiece, but not too bad either. Best song: "Help" (Beatles cover)
11Deep Purple
Purpendicular

The first album with Morse on guitar. Certainly not an essential, but nothing fans shouldn't enjoy. Best song: "Vavoom: Ted the Mechanic"
10Deep Purple
Come Taste the Band

Underrated effort by the band. Though it was the first effort without Blackmore on guitar, Bolin fills his shoes rather well. Best song "Gettin' Tighter"
9Deep Purple
Who Do We Think We Are!

Underrated album in my opinion. Definitely not as great as the four before it or the two after it, but decent all the same. Best song: "Place in Line"
8Deep Purple
Stormbringer

A nice follow up to Burn. Best song: "Stormbringer"
7Deep Purple
The Book of Taliesyn

Not the band at their best, but an enjoyable album all the same. Best song: "Kentucky Woman"
6Deep Purple
Perfect Strangers

Amazing reunion album, and possibly their last truly great one. Best song: "Knocking at your Back Door"
5Deep Purple
Deep Purple

Easily their best Mk. I album. Best song: "April"
4Deep Purple
Burn

Easily their best with future Whitesnake founder/leader David Coverdale. Amazing and overlooked work. Best song: "Mistreated"
3Deep Purple
Machine Head

Possibly their best-known work, also among their best. Best song: "Highway Star"
2Deep Purple
Fireball

Arguably their second-best work. Best song: "Fools"
1Deep Purple
Deep Purple In Rock

Easily their best studio effort. The whole band flat-out rules here. Best song: "Child In Time"
