Saw them in Toronto on Saturday. Possibly one of the best, if not best
show I've seen in recent memory. Like, if you have the chance, totally
spend the shitload of cash required to see them, assuming tickets aren't
sold out. Worth it. Hell, I had to sit on the balcony so I couldn't admire Nick
Cave's mane properly but his presence still filled the entire room. Also loved
how he interacted with the crowd and became this sort of sultry prophet.
Nah, Jubilee Street was the best song played...and was only the third one played,
followed by a standing ovation. Those buildups with the cellos and shit were
amazing live...no videos of it on youtube but there is one on my phone. Ain't gonna
bother uploading it.
I would say it beats everything I saw last year. Death Grips was fun but it was more one-
dimensional...not that it's a bad thing. Swans was incredible but too long, holy shit. 2 and a half
hours with only like 6 songs. Plus they don't do anything other than look like the crazy 50 year olds
they are. The National two years ago was my favourite show but I need to see them again to compare.
Free show June 14, yee
I saw him live earlier this month, best live show I've ever seen. I was right up the front, got to grab his hand as he walked onto the crowd. I also got him to play Tupelo in the second encore (or at least I hope I did, I chanted it every chance I could and then other fans joined in chanting Tupelo, then he asked the band if they could play it, then they came out and jammed it in the second encore). Ruled.
