| Top Gamma Ray Albums |
| 1 | Somewhere Out In Space
Many fans consider Land Of The Free to be the band's magnum opus but in my humble opinion Somewhere Out In Space is their most consistent effort. This album really guides you through the deep space... The title track slays hard |
| 2 | Land Of The Free
Land Of The Free received a massive thumbs-up when released. Many felt that the band had not only reinvented themselves, but given power metal a massive boost into the latter part of the last decade of the 20th Century. This would become a blueprint for much that would follow in the genre |
| 3 | No World Order!
I enjoyed the strong influences from Judas Priest and Iron Maiden here. I believe that Gamma Ray with No World Order! ressurected the NWOBHM. An avant-garde release from this amazing band |
| 4 | Power Plant
Well Power Plant is an amazing release but i must admit that this is their weakest effort from their golden era. Send Me A Sign, Armageddon and Gardens Of The Sinner are power metal classics |
| 5 | Heading For Tommorrow
I enjoyed the optimistic sound from this one. For me this is the real Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part III. Well some tracks are a little bit silly such as the song Money but i believe that's because of the strong Helloween influencies that Kai had this period. The title track is a 14-minute epic song with a huge progressive touch! |
| 6 | Sigh No More
Ok this is their most underrated record! I can't believe how they managed to mix power metal with a psychedelic side. One with the word is an absolute classic! |
| 7 | Majestic
Well there are some good songs here such as Revelation but... that's it. This album shows that Kai is not willing anymore to compose his own songs |
| 8 | To The Metal!
I must say that i enjoyed this album. Empathy is probably my favourite song here. I love how the song Rise sounds like Freedom Call. But that's about it. |
| 9 | Land Of The Free II
This album is nothing special. It's an Iron Maiden Judas Priest copy. Not to mention the awful production here. But Insurrection shows that if Kai put a little more effort he can achieve great things |
| 10 | Insanity And Genius
Simply their worst album. This album is about 4 songs. Heal Me, Last Before The Storm, Tribute To The Past and No Return which is one of my favourite Gamma Ray Songs. Very catchy intro. |
