CrimsonLies 01.27.13	Music means a lot to me so finding someone who shares similar tastes automatically gives me some kind of bond, dare I say, trust with that person since music is such a big part of my life and how I see myself. When I meet someone with terrible taste in music, I wonder is it because they haven't been exposed to much music, or if they genuinely like the music, but in the end it doesn't really matter to me. I find people who judge others for their music taste to be idiots and probably don't have many friends. Those I consider friends don't have very good music taste so I feel like they don't really know me in that aspect but at the end of the day, it's just music. Though I feel that music can tell a bit about someone's personality (only some of the time), music is a form of entertainment/art and everyone is free to listen to whatever they feel like.

And his girl asked him to change the station so they could listen to something more 'current'. Supposedly Merle Haggard stopped the car right then and there on the road. He got out of the car went over to the passenger side and through that woman on the ground, got back in the car and continued to listen to the King of Texas. Take from that what you will. Probably that throwing around women like thay were property was something you could get away with in the 60s. Also that Haggard loves his Bob Wills music.

spillingmercury 01.27.13	hmm it depends on their reason for listening to shit music. a lot of the times music doesn't take precedence in their life, or not for the same reason it does for me. a lot of my piano major friends don't really explore outside of classical music, so they're into pop just because it's a nice break and it allows them to relate to music in the way most of their friends do, which is casually. most of my friends don't have the same music taste as me, or interest in music at all. i don't mind. i've gotten used to it. when it comes to intimate relationships though, i'd feel more comfortable with someone who's into art and music at the same degree, if not moreso, than myself, just identifying as an artist and all. it's hard for me to separate myself from that and when i do i feel like i'm being forced to for the sake of being social. then again just because you have the same interests as me doesn't mean i don't think you're a total dick.

But if somebody starts to attack my musical taste without attacking them or if they say that some of my favorite bands are awful and they listen shit like lame mainstream hip hop, faggy pop punk, crunkcore and generic pop rock I'm sure that my response won't be the most friendly one. Also with a lot of my friends I share other things besides music music, with my friends I have some similar tastesin video games, movies, art, books, sports and others things like that.
