12.08.12 | choose tech death song and create impossible track |
XingKing
12.08.12 | I imagine a track like that would be a giant downhill track with insane turns and obstacles everywhere. |
menawati
12.08.12 | doesnt sound that different to audiosurf really |
XingKing
12.08.12 | But you could play with friends in kart racers! Don't shit on my idea or I will be sad. |
menawati
12.08.12 | ah right u mean just form the track from a song like an auto track toolkit thing |
XingKing
12.08.12 | Basically. The song will dictate the turns, jumps, obstacles, etc.. things of that nature and then you and several other players would race it. It's almost like a random track generator but your racing to the song you used and the track should match the actual beats and feel of the song. |
Calc
12.08.12 | i feel like you could only play with your friends cuz everyone would hate everyone elses music. |

menawati
12.08.12 | i understand the making of the tracks but surely it wouldnt work with the song playing over it afterwards as everyone is different speed and people crash etc, you'd never be in snyc with the track/music |
menawati
12.08.12 | just thinking tho, the ambient racing rooms might be a tad dull haha |

12.08.12 | Using a guitar-like controller to play to the beat of a song would be a wicked game idea don't you think |
DotEight
12.08.12 | That'd be a really fucking hard algorithm to program, but sounds tight.
Anyways, I can recommend something better than Audiosurf, and it's an arcade-shooter where the enemies appear based on the song tempo/beat etc. It's pretty tight.

12.08.12 | this would be pretty revolutionary. |
XingKing
12.08.12 | I feel like I didn't describe this well enough so that those of you who think I am literally copying Audiosurf can imagine what I'm talking about.
I was looking at that game out a few months ago, Dot. I might buy it. |

You can download it for free on Pirate Bay, unless you're just wanting to support the devs. But there really aren't any extra features on the paid version. But the algorithm works surprisingly well. Metal songs are chaotic, and alt/indie/ambient songs are at a slower pace. |

12.08.12 | I used to pirate all of my games but after Steam got huge, I really enjoy the convenience of my games library in one organized place. Paying is just easier. |
DotEight
12.08.12 | Well I think it's still only like $10. I've had it for about 2 months now and it's a great time-killer. Especially if you have a lot of music in your library, it doesn't get old. |
XingKing
12.08.12 | Then I'll just trust you and buy it! ShamPOW |

12.09.12 | I bought Symphony and sweet baby jesus, it's taking a lifetime to read my music library. It's been like fifteen minutes and I can't minimize the game and I couldn't remember my sputnik password to log in on the steam browser so I just sat there trying a million different passwords |
