|Favourite 90's Rock Songs|
A few of my favourite rock songs from the 90's, No particular order.
|1||Alice In Chains|
Powerful lyrics, beautiful vocals from Layne and a pretty decent guitar solo at the
end all help make no excuses a brilliant song in my opinion.
|2||Less Than Jake|
All My Best Friends Are Metal Heads
A very catchy and upbeat song, that i loved instantly from the day i first heard it.
To this day it still brings back memories of happier times.
The Age of Pamparius
The Intro is just spectacular, the way it slowly builds and progresses until bam, your smacked in the face
with some awesome fast pace riffing from "Euroboy" with some delightfully bizarre lyrics to follow. an all
round great track and one of the band's best in my opinion.
Cowboys From Hell
A Metal classic, the main riff that introduces the song is enough to warrant a listen.
Phil's howling scream after the solo, is just breath taking.
Daniel's bizzare lyrics in the song have stuck with me since i first heard them. "No more
maybes Your baby's got rabies Sitting on a ball In the middle of the Andes" Seemingly
random and bizarre but it works so well.
It seems you can't mention nineties music these days without making some sort of
reference to Nirvana or Kurt Cobain. Personally it took me a while to get into
Nirvana, they were a band i just never got, but this song changed everything, and
now because of this song i i have come to love and respect this band dearly.
|7||Guns N' Roses|
G'n'r's 9 minute masterpiece, i personally preferred this to November rain and
Slash's guitar parts are just top notch trough out this song.
My Own Summer (Shove it)
An Intensely angry song, Chino's contrast between blood curdling screams and soft
delicate whispers give the listener a very clear perspective of the Deftones unique
sound and the riff at the beginning simply awesome
The Air Conditioned Nightmare
Mike Patton at his weirdest with his one of many side projects, Mr. Bungle is the
definition of weird, and this song is one my favourites of all Mr Bungle tracks.
Pretend We're Dead
The lyrics some up perfectly the mind set of kids growing up in the 90's, real
teenage angst right here. As well as being a good example of an all girl rock band who
really know how to play their instruments.
