Masochist 12.01.12	My favorite RPG (not including Pokemon) is still Chrono Trigger. That's the only one I've played more than once, and on more than one system (SNES emulator and DS). Aside from that, I really, really love FFXII (the first Final Fantasy I ever played). Chrono Cross and Star Ocean III are awesome, as well. And I think I'm a bigger fan of Fallout 3 than I am of Fallout: New Vegas, but that's just me.

MichaelSnoxall 12.02.12	Oblivion is better, not only because I put 1000 hours into it, but because it's just got a charm and distinct character that makes it so lovable. Skyrim had nothing the keep me playing past the 80 hour mark.

apert 12.02.12	yeah i did 100 hours on skyrim finished all the main quest lines, then i got Dark Souls and haven't played it since. There isn't any quest as good as the Dark brotherhood quest in oblivion where you have to kill all the party quests in the manor without them finding out. literally the best moment in oblivion

MichaelSnoxall 12.02.12	Oblivion was full of so many good quests, easter eggs, characters, landscapes, just everything. Skyrim is just such a dull, lifeless and uninspiring world to adventure in. Oblivion was fun and quirky and rewarded you for putting in the time. Skyrim just had nothing to come back for.

MichaelSnoxall 12.02.12	I bought Skyrim and Dark Souls at the same time, got bored of Skyrim after I beat the main quest and was horribly let down (I was so excited for Skyrim because Oblivion is my favourite game of all time), then I picked up Dark Souls, hated it because I sucked, but I picked up my pace and was like WOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAH best game ever.

MichaelSnoxall 12.02.12	I was stuck on the first area of the game in Dark Souls (not counting the tutorial area) for over 8 hours because I couldn't beat it. I played for like an hour a day, got pissed off and yelled at my friend for recommending me such a shitty game. I eventually got past the area and just went further and I was like, "hey, it's not THAT bad"

Polyethylene 12.02.12	You can't play WoW because you don't enjoy it, or because something is literally preventing you from doing so? The novelty of WoW is definitely gone, but over the years they've really nailed it in a lot of areas. It isn't any less challenging, they've just ironed out a lot of stuff that was convoluted and/or impossible back in the day. Mists of Pandaria is the best expansion since Burning Crusade, the lore is amazing and the zones are gorgeous. Quests are getting more varied and interesting, rep grinds yield sweeter rewards, and there is just so goddamn much to do now. I struggle to choose between it all

MichaelSnoxall 12.02.12	The Bell Gargoyles weren't too hard for me. I was stuck in the Undead Burg at the part with the first black knight and the Taurus Demon. I kept trying to fight the black knight with no game experience and a shitty default weapon and I cried. I eventually found out how to get the Drake Sword early on and it made the game a lot easier for a beginner, and I don't regret it because if I didn't, I probably would have given up.

apert 12.02.12	I didn't get the drake sword till after the Gargoyles. It made the first part of the game before Sen's Fortress alot easier. That first black knight can be a real pain for new players, didn't have much trouble with the Taurus Demon though.

fish. 12.02.12	Mass Effect 1 is the best ME game but they're all brilliant. 3rd one wasn't fucked up at all apart from the ending (which doesn't detract from the rest of the game), although the gameplay didn't change much from ME2. Fallout NV's atmosphere was nowhere near as good as Fallout 3's but the story was better.

ThunderNeutral21 12.03.12	cool Flutter. Some really good shit on here. Mass Effect was horrible though. Dragon Age Origins is also trash. I was kinda disappointed to see Oblivion too, worst Elder Scrolls games and one of the most mediocre rpgs ever made in my opinion in terms of content. Been playin New Vegas a lot recently too, along with Demons Souls and the witcher 2. New Vegas has really great writing and deep role playing elements, a lot better than 3 imo. So much good shit on this list and Icewind Dale 2 rules. 13 is the best rpg ive ever played btw, and I only started playing it like right before skyrim came out and its 100x better than oblivion

Really been meaning to play the old Fallout's More, Planescape, Baldur's Gate 1, and give Neverwinter Nights 1 a shot since 2, despite sucking in game design was a huge part of my childhood.

ThunderNeutral21 12.03.12	i could write an essay on why skyrim shits heaps on oblivion but its doesnt matter since morrowind is way better than both and yea Lakes what Im finding interesting is that NV is actually difficult in some parts, fallout 3 was like oblivion most of the time especially if you had enough ammo, nothing was too hard new vegas actually makes me struggle a bit

I had no problem becoming immersed in Skyrim when it came out, Daggerfall when I started playing it a few months ago, and Morrowind, which I've been playing off and on since 2011

I made a build where I can hold my own in a fight with the right weapons but that leaves me shorthanded in other aspects of the game

Oh, also the story is heaps better, the VA in general is better - with some tweaks the world is more immersive (even if you're all 'immersiveness' denying most mods, there are a good couple that definitely make it more immersive). The world is more lively (again, can also be easily tweaked further with some mods), the character system is better. Shall I go on? (oh, this is coming from someone who was a total skepticist of Skyrim since it came out)

The world in Skyrim cripples the shitty Oblivion landscape/populous. skyrim's main story sucks as much as oblivion's did except the plot twist with parthunax ruled and lakes whatever as long as they make you build up to become a god and its not lolblivion, i dont mind an rpg rewarding you with op status once you level cap
Wolfhorde 12.03.12	In case you're playing FNV on your PC try going with Arwen's Realism Tweaks, Project Nevada and stuff like MoMod. Shit's gonna kick your ass. Deathclaws now really mean deathclaws and they're gonna fucking rape you unless you have incredibly strong gear and are at least lvl 15+. Also, hardcore mode with stuff like PN is definitely gonna keep your ass busy staying alive.

Skyrim's questing system is incredibly simplified but the quests in general were better written than the ones I did in Oblivion. The thieves guild questline was entertaining and the whole location and character to the thieves guild was awesome, way better than the one in lolblivion

Oblivion's world, especially the wilderness, was copied and pasted a lot, I've even seen pictures on the web proving it. Certain settings specifically. Characters included and character models. I mean for christs sake Morrowind has barely any voice acting or ai 'life schedules' and it's ten times more organic, real, character driven and full of color/variation than shitblivion
MichaelSnoxall 12.03.12	I played around a hundred hours of Skyrim and about a thousand hours in Oblivion. I got about twenty hours into Bordlands 1 before not wanting to waste any more time on it. I didn't want to pick up Borderlands 2 because I hated the first. Seems a logical reason to not want to play it.

MichaelSnoxall 12.03.12	Dark Souls has an incredible story and lore, it's just not told the same way other game do. Lore and key story elements are found in dialogue with all NPCs, in item descriptions and in the few cutscenes the game has. Also in the in-world game, just little bits and pieces you have to take notice of all contribute the the story.
ThunderNeutral21 12.03.12	to be fair i havent played dark souls as much as demons souls and even if its not told the same way, in terms of plot arc and development of other npcs, there was none from what i saw again i dont even count that a flaw, the game does fine without any emphasis on story
